Didn't see a post yet...
I was sad to see Keith go. Yes, buying pre-cooked shrimp seems like a terrible idea especially from a seafood chef - but I feel like he was really thrown under the bus for it. I agreed with him about the enchiladas, if he didn't know he was using the wrong tortilla, how could he have fixed the issue? He seemed like a genuine nice guy - I was happy to see he won the 'Last Chance Kitchen' challenge.
Sara and Lindsey seem super catty but I guess in a competition like this you really are just looking out for yourself. I think I will enjoy this season, it's been good so far!

Re: Top Chef (**spoilers**)
He seemed pretty clueless IMO. You can't blame EVERY goof on your teammatess.
I didn't see the Last Chance Kitchen thing; I assume he's back? Did they send someone else home?
I knew the second that he said pre-cooked that he was going to be out. It is one of those things that is a given, if you have watched past seasons. The purchased tortillas would have really gotten blasted if it hadn't been for the shrimp. Tortillas are not that hard to make, and they taste so much better when they are fresh, but pre-cooked proteins or premade sausage never goes over well with the judges.
I do agree that the team should have told him about the flour tortillas, but he wasn't exactly a team player either. They did try to initiate conversation early on and he was responsive. He says that he would have changed and used corn tortillas, but no one knows that he would have for sure. And since he didn't really talk to them about the menu before he shopped, wouldn't his need of corn tortillas meant that they would have been short of corn tortillas for the other dishes that needed them?
I am interested in the chefs and seeing what they do, but all the Texas related challenges are going to get old real fast. The quincinera was an interesting challenge, (kind of like when they cater weddings) and the girl was a good judge, but there is more to Texas than rattlesnakes, Tex-Mex and Mexican food.
Agree with this. Loved Blanca's dress as well. To the PP, I think there will be a few more Last Chance Kitchen competitions before they name a "winner" and that person gets to rejoin the show. Not sure when that will be though.
Pre-cooked ANYTHING is a no-no on Top Chef! I have seen Tom complain about canned beans ("you can't open a bag of beans?"). I KNEW that team would have problems while they were still in the grocery store, with the pre-cooked shrimp, pre-made tortillas, and boxed cake! This is a COOKING competition. I don't even use pre-cooked shrimp at home for shrimp cocktail.
I think the "nobody told me" excuse is lame. Nobody told you...but did you ask? It IS a competition, while these people are your team-makes, they are also your competitors. You can't expect people to volunteer and guide you - he is supposed to be an experienced chef! Or, could he have deduced with his chef's knowledge that the insides would make the flour tortilla soggy. Or, instead making a Mexican dish that is well known that he didn't know how to make, he could have made something that was "his style" and put a Mexican / Southwest spin on it.
I think the whole "pre-cooked" shrimp issue in the beginning really killed the team relationship and hurt the communication going forward. Keith felt embarressed / nervous, Sarah was angry...it didn't set thing up well.
And I did like Keith, but I don't see him lasting too long, even with a second chance.
The guy I really don't like is the guy who, when Sara said "just make sure the shrimp is really good" on the phone, and Keith said "I'm going to get pre-cooked shrimp" was just like "yeah, yeah!"
