Moms of 2 or more with Csection
Re: Moms of 2 or more with Csection
I didn't have a c section, but I was induced. I was induced on a monday morning. My mom came to our house the weekend before. She stayed with Reese while we were in the hospital. We made it a big deal that she was having special time with grandma while mama and dad were gone.
I had Grier in the early afternoon. My mom brought Reese to the hospital after she woke up from her nap. That gave me time to get moved to my post partum room. The second afternoon, dh went home so he could pick her up from daycare and spend some time with her before we brought the baby home.
My mom took her to daycare (she was only going half days) and kept her night time schedule the same. The day I came home, my mom brought her to the hospital so we could all go home together.
Reese was only 23 months when Grier was born. Her world was turned upside down and we wanted to try to keep some sort of normal for her. We wanted her involved but without interupting her routine. She actually adjusted much better than I though she would. She showed little jealousy, but did have some regression with potty training. She's actually showing more jealousy now that Grier is more interactive and less like a little crying blob. lol!
Originally the plan was for my mom to stay with Sophia until we were out of recovery and back in our room, but Sophia was too excited to wait at home so they came to the hospital while I was still in recovery. DH went out and talked to her and showed her (and only her) pictures of her new baby brother. Once I was in my room she came in and crawled right up into bed with me and Collin. We made sure to have time just the four of us right away so she could be the first to see him.
My mom stayed with her at our house the entire time we were in the hospital. It ended up that they would come up mid morning and then head back home about lunch time. She was then given the option of coming back to the hospital after nap if she wanted to. At bedtime DH came home and did her normal bedtime routine and then came back to the hospital to stay the night. On the day we went home my mom brought her to the hospital for us to get discharged and the four of us rode home together while my mom took her own car home.
I SAH so no daycare, but she did continue with her already scheduled library story time one of the days I was in the hospital.
My mom came and stayed with Michael while I was in the hospital with Trace.
She came the night before as we left super early for our scheduled C-section. He was home the entire time but still went to his regular daycare days (two days a week). My mom came and visited but Michael didn't...I think she was worried about driving with him in town. DH stayed almost the entire time with me at the hospital although he was super bored. He went home/to the office for about half of one of the days.
