Hi. I'm new here. We just listed our house for sale yesterday. We've already had a couple of showings with a couple more scheduled. Just was wondering if during the process you got feedback from the buyer's realtor? It's just killing me wondering what they think .....
Re: Did you get feedback?
Yep we received feedback. Most of it was annoying and unhelpful.
- "feels like a townhouse" ... yep our 4500 sq ft home felt like a townhouse good grief.
- "we want to buy in this town but your yard is too small and taxes too high" ... well you won't live in this town if you want a larger yard, similar home AND lower taxes LOL
Our home was staged for selling (appropriate furniture in the spaces and about 35% of our belongings had been moved out to storage), and it was only a few years old so it was an easy show. I could see how feedback could be helpful if a home is not staged properly for showing but IME the feedback was all on things that we couldn't change or help them with.
Now if you get "house smells gross" ... that you can change lol
I think if your house is in top notch shape and is staged to sell, most of the feedback you are going to get is about things you can't or won't change. I know when we were looking, a lot of our feedback on why we didn't chose that house had to do with things such as too few bedrooms, small backyard, small living areas, awkward layout, etc. It wasn't all that helpful to the buyer other than to know why we were passing on their house.
