Pregnancy symptoms?

I'm posting anonymously because I'm probably being crazy and feel kind of silly for even asking, but what were your first pregnancy symptoms and how soon did you start with symptoms?

I'm on bc and DH and I are usually careful about the timing of our sexy time to avoid my most fertile times, but after having sex last weekend, I realized that I should be ovulating within the next two or three days. I got a little nervous but tried not to worry since I am on bc. Then all week I was having a hard time sleeping. I was waking up in the middle of the night to pee and was unable to fall back to sleep for an hour or two. Both of those are not normal occurances for me. I thought it was odd, but figured I was having a rough week. Then I was nauseous on and off all day today. I'm not due to start my period for another week, so it's clearly early to think about testing and probably too early to even have symptoms. What were your experiences with symptoms?

Re: Pregnancy symptoms?

  • Honestly, my first symptom was a missed period.  After I knew I was pregnant, I noticed maybe my breasts were getting larger.  I thought I had some nausea, but it seemed to almost go away completely after my first ultrasound showed I was behind my expected dates.

All of your symptoms sound like they could be related to being worried about being pregnant.

Have you been good about taking your bc?  If so, I think you're good.

  • I didn't really get any pregnancy related symptoms until I was about 6 weeks pregnant. So, my biggest sign was a missed period.

  • Honestly, I hadn't even thought about the possibility of pregnancy again until I started with nausea today, so the difficulty sleeping is probably the result of something else. What, i don't know.

I have been pretty good with my birth control.

  • A missed period and sore boobs. I didn't start having other symptoms until about 6 weeks.
  • #1- Sore boobs and dizziness

    #2- hunger... very, very hungry!

  • If you're on bc you're not supposed to ovulate, I don't think.

Obvs I've never had any pregnancy symptoms, but I had stuff like you're experiencing when I was on the pill.  Hell, I get nauseous at the most random times, I usually tie them to nerves or too much caffiene.

I'm on the progesterone only pill, so i still ovulate.

  • My first symptom was smell.  My BFF and I went shopping and I spritzed on some perfume.  It was making me sick, and I liked the scent.  It was so strong I gagged.  She told me I was pregnant (it was her first symptom too), I said no.  Well, I had to go home and change my shirt.  3 days later, BFP.
  • With Abby - pains in my side and extreme fatigue (originally just thought I had another cyst- though that was cause for the pain)

With Twins - nausea... started throwing up 3 days before BFP.

  • Wakefulness and night urination were among my first symptoms.  I never, ever wake up to pee, and I never experience wakefulness in the middle of the night.  I've had that with both pregnancies now.

Sore breasts were a dead giveaway in pregnancy #1.  With this pregnancy, it was early onset nausea.

All of these were before a missed period or a bfp.

I hope you get the outcome that best suits you, OP.

  • With Alex it was sore boobs that got me thinking maybe. Then one day I was very nauseated at work and figured it wouldn't hurt to test. Got the BFP that night.

I really don't remember anything this time. We were trying and I was getting frustrated so I was analyzing every feeling and possible symptom. I do remember testing just because but not actually expecting a positive.

  • I was just a little gassy initially. Then had some sore boobs, but that was after BFP at 11 dpo. Most of the time nausea doesn't start until closer to week 6-7.

GL for whichever outcome is in your heart!

  • My first symptom was nausea, but not until the day before my missed period. I do think it's a little early for symptoms but I'm no expert. Hope you get the result you want!

  • I had one overwhelming bout of nausea.  I got up from my desk to go to the bathroom and about halfway there I stopped in my tracks with this crazy dizzy/nausea/hurling feeling.  Then, it left as fast as it came.  It was so bizarre.

    Next morning got the BFP.

  • With Kellen just a missed period. I didn't start having symptoms until about a week or so after I got my BFP. Then my symptoms were sore boobs and nausea.

With Tessa I was feeling nausea and I knew before I took a test that I was pregnant.

  • About a week after we DTD I had really sore boobs and had to pee non stop, almost like a UTI.

I also had a weird cramping in my lady bits.

  • With Noah, my missed period was my first clue so i waited a few days to see if it would show up and it never did so i tested and it was positive.

With Peyton, on the day i was supposed to get my period my boobs were sore. So i tested that night and it was positive.

I hope you get the outcome you want!
