Wine of the month as gift?

DH and I are considering doing something like this for the IL's. I am trying to figure out if one club stands out over the others. Any experience would be appreciated!

Re: Wine of the month as gift?
I have given this to a few people as gifts and they have told me that they really enjoyed it. I am planning to order it for myself soon because of the good reviews of friends.

I have also given people gift cards to local wineries that I have been to/tried the wine at, with recommendations for wine. That also seemed well received.
Dh gave me a membership as a gift with Vinesse. They had great customer service and we were really happy with the club. I would get 6 bottles (2 of each) of red wine from all over the world. It was really fun to try new wines from different countries etc (we usually stick with S American reds when we shop on our own).
The only issue was that it came via UPS and it needed an adult signature. There was no warning the wine was coming so I'd just get all the notices that they'd tried to deliver. So, if I were to do it again, I'd have it delivered to the UPS facility near us and I could pick it up at my convenience (what Vinesse & UPS told me).

This is exactly what I came in here to say. Whenever we have wine delivered, it's a PITA, and we live only 15 min or so from the UPS facility. So unless you know it's going to be relatively convenient for your ILs to pick it up or be home for delivery, or they are HUGE wine fans who wouldn't be able to get these wines any other way, I wouldn't do it.
Oh yeah, most states have a law that you must have someone over 21 sign for wine, and when I wanted to do this for one friend, there were a lot of wine of the months that would not deliver to her state at all (I cannot remember if she was in GA or FL at the time, but one of those two) If your In-laws are retired or one stays at home, it is not so bad. I have one friend who changed hers to have it delivered at work because of this, but again, that just depends on their job/office type.

I would just ensure that what they are sending isn't going to cost half in actual price as what you are paying just for the name 'gift of the month' ...
I've given Gold Medal wine gifts before. They give you boutique winery wines--which I like, and everyone has always loved the wines. From the purchasers' standpoint, they've been nothing but GREAT and easy to work with.
It sounds like the shipping wouldn't be as much of an issue, so I'd go ahead and do it!
