They make purses out of Kangaroos!?@!
Re: They make purses out of Kangaroos!?@!
They make hypoallergenic dog food out of Kangaroos too.
That's not all they make......
Australia has a kangaroo overpopulation problem. I'm not saying its right, but they view them a lot differently than we do. (Here's more info - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kangaroo_%28meat%29)
Much like any other animal, they're cute until they become pests by ruining crops, like deer.
Because they're cute?
Click me, click me!
100% this. There are approximately 2 kangaroos for every human in Australia. When I first moved here, my H wouldn't let me drive after dusk because I hadn't learned how to "spot the roos". Hitting one will total out your car.
Now, what irritates me is that clutch is only $80 USD. Down here that would cost in the $200+ range.
Kangaroos are just like deer, a destructive nuisance that cause millions of dollars in damage every year. There's no shortage of either one.
I remember posting pics on another forum of my car after I hit a deer and the city dwellers were all "OMG, I never knew anything so cute could cause so much damage!!"
Yeah. Apparently the 'cute' is supposed to turn them into big giant cottonballs and take away the fact that they weigh over 200 pounds and are dumber than bags of hair.
I've eaten kangaroo.
I can't remember what it tasted like. I've eaten too many odd animals to remember each one's taste.

ETA - Here's a funny picture of me feeding a bunch of them when I was at an animal park in Australia. They are hunger buggers!
they're more or less vermin over tehre.
(which is why I don't get why importing so much 'roo stuff is illegal. I have a 'roo skin on my wall, but it was imported back when it was legal)
Exactly! Although hearing them compared to deer makes me question this whole thing less.
