Home inspectors...
Hi Ladies. We just got confirmation that the SS approval should be in from the lender on Monday. We will need to get a home inspection ordered ASAP. Do you have any suggestions for home inspectors that cover the Valrico area? Or any suggestions of who to avoid?

This was a team of three inspectors - they were very thorough. If I remember correctly, I paid $295 for an inspection; I don't know if they have different price points for different size homes.

Somehow we didn't pay for our inspection, it was a part of the closing costs or something, and while I liked the guy, I wouldn't recommend him. Not that I remember his name, and we are in Tampa anyway. The one thing I asked him to check thoroughly was the plumbing. I was scared of plumbers because that work is underground and behind walls and can be destructive, and expensive. But he missed that our plumbing is galvanized and our house is 50 years old, so we ended up having a slab leak and having to do an entire repipe after 3 years. Luckily we found a plumber who was able to do it for a good price of $3500, which is half of what another plumber quoted us. But every plumber and handyman we had over took one look at our house and knew our pipes were galvanized, wish our inspector had.
All that being said, I love my home and congrats on getting one of yours!! I could never go back to apartment living. This money pit is mine
