Who has a REALLY GOOD stuffing recipie that thye would like to share? Normally my MIL makes hers but they are coming the day of and won't have time so I am going to make it. But that is one of the few things I have rarely made for Thanksgiving. And I don't want to randomly pick some recipie that i haven't tried because I want YUMMY!!!
Re: Stuffing??
i made this one last year (skipped the apples) and it was a big hit with my fam, DH especially liked it. i think stuffing is gross but since i made it, i had to try some and while still not a fan, the flavors were really good.

I like simple. I've tried variations like fruit, sausage and nuts, but I never like them. Sausage seemed greasy and the fruit and nuts seemed out of place.
I mkae my mom's recipe. Make an 8x8 pan of corn bread (omitting the sugar) let it dry out along with a loaf of bread overnight. Crumble the bread into a bowl.
Saute one diced onion, 2 cloves of garlic and 5 stalks of celery in butter until soft.
melt a stick of butter
combine dried bread, veggies and butter
season with salt, pepper, thyme and sage
Add chicken broth until you reach desired consistency. Bake in a buttered dish at 350 for about 25 minutes.
I have to make 2 bags of stuffing to stuff turkey and have some leftover in a corningware dish for leftovers so this is my variation but I'm sure you could cut it in half.
2 bags of peppridge farm seasoned stuffing (blue bag)
2 sticks of butter
1 package of celery finely diced
2 sweet onions finely diced
2 cartons of swanson chicken broth (warmed in the microwave)
melt better, add celery & onions and sautee until just soft. In a big bowl combine stuffing, celery, onions and chicken broth and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
This is essentially our recipe (Pepperidge Farm is key, although the Arnold ones aren't bad in a pinch). We use only a few stalks of celery and two onions and homemade turkey stock (we make it for the gravy - although I used canned broth the rest of the year).
