I start my new job 12/12 and I'm so excited. I am a little confused about giving notice though. I would usually give notice this Friday (2 weeks), but the office is closed for Thanksgiving.
Would it still be acceptable to give notice next Monday? I am sort of afraid that they might just escort me out of the building and fire me once I give notice. They've done it before.

I'd give notice Wednesday. If you give notice Monday they may want you to work that next Monday - I gave notice on a Monday and they said two weeks would be the following Monday - but I told them that next friday would be the last day.
Plus you'll feel a weight lifted off your shoulders once you give notice. At least that's how it was for me!
