So, I'm really not a huge pie fan... I've never really liked the crust, so I would just eat the filling, and that kind of defeats the purpose. I do like pecan pies though..
My MIL makes an awesome raspberry and coconut tart... (although, that's not really a "pie")

Per Wikipedia: Mincemeat is a mixture of chopped dried fruit, distilled spirits and spices, and sometimes beef suet, beef, or venison.
So maybe it's that you've never had good crust? Because I will say there is a significant difference between a store bought crust pie and a homemade crust pie - depending on who made it of course. A good homemade crust makes a pie.
Pumpkin pie is my absolute favorite. I must have it on Thanksgiving with home made whip cream. Yummy. In fact Im in charge of making the punpkin pies this year for both my family's Thanksgiving and for DH's family's Thanksgiving. Lol.
