Who is Black Friday Shopping?

I'm plotting my attack. What's yours?

Re: Who is Black Friday Shopping?

  • Oh yes, BF is my favorite day of the year.  I refrain myself from "sneaking" any ads before Thanksgiving when the paper is delivered.  Then H and I go through the ads and mark what each of us wants to buy before cutting everything out.  Then we staple them on sheets of paper as our guide (it's easier to shop quickly with pictures than words).  Then we plan our attack.  After all of the shopping is done we go to lunch then pick out a tree.  We spend the rest of the day decorating for Christmas.  Needless to say it is great fun and an awesome way to start the season.
  • In the past, I would hit a store or two when I woke up (so like 8-9 am) and just find a few little things.

This year, however, I think I'm braving the crowd for a TV for the in-laws.  Luckily, however, the best deal on the size we want is at Kmart, which I feel won't be AS crazy as Walmart/Target/BestBuy.

  • I really doubt it.  Maybe in the afternoon, but I'll probably look more online.  IF I go out and I know I'll buy stuff I really don't need.

  • I may go out that afternoon. Oh wait no. Evie is getting her shots that afternoon... fun!
  • I LOVE BF shopping, but I'm just not sure I'm up for it this year. :( I haven't checked out too many ads yet, so it's going to depend on if there's anything that's too good to pass up or not.
  • I've never been Black Friday shopping and I hope I never have to. It sounds so nightmarish to me!

  • I am, because DH's work holiday party is Dec 3.  It's semi formal attire.  I have a few dresses, but since I'm pregnant, they don't fit.  So I need a new dress. I'm not willing to spend a lot on a dress that I'll only wear once or twice.   Black Friday seems like the perfect time to buy this new dress.
  • I'm missing it this year but I always go with my sister. We're not diehards so it's not a serious plan of attack but we usually go to a few stores, get breakfast, come back to my house and crash. It's so much fun!

  • ME!!!! I love Black Friday. My sister and SIL go together. We make our plan of attach on Thanksgiving. I must say though, I am not happy that everyone is opening at midnight this year. I like going to bed and getting up at 330. I don't want to just stay up. It's not the same.
  • We usually go to the Mall of America, which is actually not too bad - it's like the only place that actually has the capacity for a day like Black Friday! We don't go super early, but we do get almost all our shopping done that day.

This year, though, we won't be in Minneapolis with Paul's fam, we'll be in Hilton Head with my fam. Don't know yet what the plan is, but they do have some outlet malls in HHI. I wonder if the outlet malls have even better prices on BF?
