Re: Thanksgiving Football

  • I can't remember?  I kind of think that maybe it's on during the day, but it's not a tradition to sit down at watch it together.  hm.  maybe I'll just say "no" then.  although I always watch the apple cup :)
  • It's only in recent years that some of my family have started "needing" have these TV Thanksgiving traditions on. My brother got way into football a few years ago. My mom all of a sudden in the past 10 years (wait, well, it was a sudden switch,) needs the parade. I get really anxious/irritable with all that crowd noise and shouting announcers/parade mentally deficient chatter in the background.

  • Yes! My boys play every year. DH and I are going to my parent's house and having a small dinner. I am going to try and convince DH to go earlier so I can watch the game with my dad. : )

  • In the past I haven't really watched Thanksgiving football because:

    1.  I don't like the Cowboys

    2.  The Lions have been perennially abysmal

However, this year the Lions are good AND they're playing Green Bay so that will be a good game; I'll skip the Dallas game; and I'll watch the 49ers / Ravens play, which I think is fun because (1) H is a Ravens fan; (2) the coaches of the 49ers and Ravens are brothers so that's fun they get to play each other on Thanksgiving; and (3) they're both good teams so it should be a good game.

I L-O-V-E football, so I'm actually really excited to have two good match-ups on a day with no plans.

Growing up the parade was on, along with music (almost always a classical record) while we goofed around and dinner was being prepared.
