The sales, the madness, the ridiculously early...

Re: Black Friday clicky
I feel ya! Not on crutches but am still slow - I think I might get run over
Sorry, I'm full off SS today
SS- I'll go if I'm in town for it. I'm one of those nut jobs that leaves at 10pm the night before and goes all during the night and in to the morning. I won't be home this year though.
One year I started at the outlets in Marysville at 11pm thanksgiving night and made my way down the I-5 corridor and ended up in Covington at 9pm the next night night. That's been my longest BF trip ever. I usually have a few dedicated friends that go with me too.
I have a SS... I don't go at midnight/3am and definitely NOT to any of the crazy stores... (target/best buy/etc)... but I do roll out of bed around 5am and hit Belle Square. So many of the stores have really great sales and while they're mildly crowded, it's not bad at all. Any store that opens at midnight or 3am is going to be mostly done with their rush by 5/6am.
I've ventured to Old Navy before too, and gotten some killer details on kids' clothes/outerwear/pajamas for the gift drive we do at work. Rumor has it ON has a Groupon detail running tomorrow, so if that's combinable with whatever their sale is this year, it could be pretty good.
I don't make a hard and fast plan and I don't hang out with the crazies, but it's kind of a fun start to the Christmas season IMHO. I just like to get a jump on shopping. I'm usually back home napping by 9am or so, then use the rest of the day to decorate/wrap presents.
2012 Racing Plans:
Valentine's Day Dash 5k, 02/11/2012, 33:03
Seahawks 12k, 04/01/2012, 1:23:17
Bellevue 10k, 04/29/2012
Beat the Bridge 8k, 05/20/2012
Seattle Rock n Roll Half Marathon, 06/23/2012
...more to come!
I've done BF once. And only once. I kind of don't think it would be *as bad* here because the weather is a bit better. But waiting in lines in the damn snow in Alaska was way more than I bargained for.

jumped ship to the new and improved nest. back to TB for baby boards.
I don't participate at all. At least going to the stores, I might shop on-line though. It has gotten ridiculous how early stores are opening. And for what? To save a few bucks? I'm sorry but when people start getting trampeled and seriously injured, maybe we should rethink this.
my currently-reading shelf:
omg, this definitely. when i *do* go black friday shopping, i go after noon. the morning stuff is too much for me.

We generally don't go. We'll go by stores later in the day, just to see (we got D a laptop like 4 years ago for super cheap and somehow they STILL had some left), but the crowds just arent' worth it.
I'll wait for Cyber Monday.
This. I'm rarely buying enough stuff, or expensive enough stuff, to make the savings worth it. Also, if I scour the internet I can almost always find it on sale, or else I just won't buy it. I also never shop at the Rack or TJ Maxx, though, because I H-A-T-E digging to find stuff - I just have really low patience for crowds and shopping in general. I do almost all of it online (Amazon Prime makes it a breeze).
