Mark flew out to Colorado yesterday. His brother is flying out right now.
The hosptial has wifi, so we were video chatting while he was there. His Mom joined in, and we got his brother and our friend Drew (who has been sort of babysitting Andy) in the chat too. We all had the Giants game on and all sort of watched together. It was good for everyone to sort of be "together".
His Dad had an MRI yesterday and it appears that the tumor has shrunk a little bit. They're saying that could mean it's not the brain cancer they thought it was and it could be a lymphoma. The official biopsy results are expected today, and then we should have a definate answer. We're praying for lymphoma, though, as that seems like the less awful option.
Re: Monday Update
That's great news that the tumor has shrunk a bit! I'm keeping lots of vibes coming your way for good results on the biopsy.
Whoever invented video chat is amazing. How awesome for you and your family to be able to do something like watch the game together. I'm sure it helped everyone feel at least a little bit better.

I'm glad you were able to video chat.
And that's great the tumor has shrunk! Keep us posted.
You guys are in my T&Ps. xoxo
Please PLEASE be lymphoma. PLEASE!
hearts and hugs you you and Mark
Video chatting makes it so much easier to be far away from loved ones. I'm glad you guys had that opportunity.
From what I understand most types of lymphoma are treatable, or if not people live with them for many many years. My friends mom was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Continuing to pray for your family!!
My Mom was diagnosed with lymphoma in May 2009, and was in recession by January 2010, she still has to get 'maintenance' treatments, but she has been doing much much better in the past 2 years
She was told my her doctors in the beginning that if you're going to have cancer, lymphoma is the one you always hope for.
I'm not sure if that helps, this is such a hard thing for you to be dealing with. I also pray that your Dad is facing the lesser of the two evils! ((hugs!))
Kate - I haven't been around much lately but did catch up on all of your posts and just wanted to say how terribly sorry I am to hear about Mark's dads. Sending you Thoughts, prayers and vibes that he gets home soon and that it's lymphoma vs. the brain tumor.
Hang in there!
