What are you doing? Where are you going? What are you cooking/bringing?
This year, I am going to my dad's Aunt/Uncle's house "in the country" outside of Houston. They host our side of the family every other year. It will be us, them, my sister and her new BF, my dad, and my cousins. I skipped 2009 since we had just gotten back from the HM so I haven't seen this side of the family in 4 years (they told me the Tuesday before my wedding they weren't coming--I was really hurt.). We usually stay until Saturday but since Mel has to work Black Friday, we're coming back early, which is fine with me. And I don't have to bring or cook anything!
Friday night, we're putting up the tree and since Ben has a rare Saturday off, we'll sleep in and do something together--maybe go see Breaking Dawn.
Re: So, what are you doing for Thanksgiving?
We are going to Corpus to spend the holiday with DH's family. We are driving, so it's going to be quite the road trip. DH spends Thanksgiving Day with his grandma, who lives in Brownsville, so after driving to Corpus on Wednesday, we will get up and drive to Brownsville on Thursday morning. I'm not looking forward to driving, but I do enjoy spending time with his family.
No cooking required on my part.
We are having Thanksgiving with my dad Wednesday night and with my mom on Thirsday afternoon. We will see DHs family on Saturday for lunch.
I am making the pies and the cranberry sauce. Yum!

We have it so easy.
On Thursday we are going to hang out with DH's parents, his brother and brother's gf. Snack foods. They live in Garland so we are local.
On Saturday we head North for 'real' Thanksgiving with my family. They are just over an hour away from us.
We are making sausage balls for Thursday, and for Saturday I am making the Pinterest "Ultimate Mac and Cheese" (yes, there really is about $30 worth of dairy products in it) and Corn Casserole.
Luckily all my family lives in town. We are going to my dad's first to drop of my pie and visit and then we will go to my mom's (1.8 miles away) and have lunch and then go back to my dad's for leftovers and football.
All I have to bring this year is the ham DH got from work and make my pumpkin pie for both houses. Normally I cook a lot more but I get to slide this year! And I've already been told there will be no cleaning done by me!
I am going to my aunt's house in Saginaw (very close to my house...YAY) around 1:00pm where my whole family will be. They all cook a wonderful dinner and we eat early so everyone can get to their in laws' houses for dinner.
Then I will be going to DH's family's for dinner.
I'm a terrible cook so all I do is show up and eat!
Since DHs parents are divorced, we will be going to his dads side first, at 10am(we're supposed to be there at noon, but I love chitchatting with his family), then at 2, we'll be going to his moms side of the family. We still have no clue what time we'll be going to my side, since nobody bothers to tell us anything. So our Thanksgiving will be held in Joshua/Cleburne for all sides of our family, which makes driving for us A LOT easier.
I'm making Pumpkin Angel Puffs with Spiced Whipped Cream. Heres a pic of it, but I dont know how to make it clicky.:(

Since theres not a lot of people on both sides, I'll be splitting up the cupcakes.
I'll also be making chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry snickerdoodles, and a Jello No bake cheescake.
YUM!
1) Um...I want to come to your TG for all these treats!
2) To make a clicky highlight what you want to link your clicky to and click on the icon that looks like a link in a chain.
We are going to my IL's but after the Titan debacle, we have shortened our visit from Wed-Sun to just Wed afternoon-Friday morning. DH is still pretty upset with his dad for the way things went down, so he decided he just wants to stay for T-giving and come home...which I am 100% okay with.
On the way back to our house on Friday, we will stop by my mom's house. She is making us spaghetti and meatballs and then we are going to the Christmas tree farm to cut down a tree for their house. My sister, mom and I will decorate it just like when we lived at home.
Saturday and Sunday we are planning to rip out our carpet (finally!) and lay our wood floors.
I am bringing cranberry sauce, sweet potato and carrot casserole with sweet/spicy pecans, fiesta corn and Mississippi Sin Dip to the IL's. Can't wait!
I can't wait to find out how this comes out!

Just do it!
Yesterday we had Thanksgiving with DH's family (his mom, brother, sister and her husband and kids, his sister's in-laws, and my parents and sister). I made cranberry sauce and caramel apple cheesecake. Man, people go ape over homemade cranberry sauce!
On Thursday we'll be doing dinner with my family. My sister has lunch with her boyfriend's family, so we'll be eating late. It will be myself and DH, my parents, my sister and her BF, my cousin with her husband and kids, my aunt and grandmother. Oh, and my MOH and her husband who usually go out of town for Thanksgiving but will be in town are going to get to come! I've planned the whole menu for Thanksgiving day, including a smoked turkey, ham, cheesy potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, salad, dinner rolls, etc., all homemade. My parents, DH and I will split up the duties, and I'm excited that we have all day to cook.
I didn't know places like that existed here! I thought they only had these up north!
I have some of the Pumpkin Angel Puffs that I made earlier, because I was doing a "test batch" since I've never made them before, and they turned out AWESOME!! I'll pretty much be baking all day Wednesday.
Thanks for the info about the clicky! I didnt realize it did it already.
Wow those are some busy plans.
We were suppose to go do the Turkey trot Thursday morning, but due to my knee issue we aren't going anymore. So at 1pm we will be at DH's families Thanksgiving and hang out there until 5:30 then head over to my family's house for our Thanksgiving at 6. We get to do both which is of course a blessing for us. I did it last year, but DH didn't come with me to my family thing.
I'll be making Chiptole Mac and Cheese and Pumpkin cake for his family and doing punch and drinks for mine. I'm not able to keep anything really warm for my family and so I wasn't able to really make anything. It seems like all my aunts have it covered anyways.

Sounds like y'all are all having some good food and lots of family!
DH and I are driving to College Station for the A&M/tu game on Thursday. My cousin is still a student, so we are going to do a Thanksgiving pre-game with my aunts & uncle Thursday afternoon.I'm not sure what I'll bring, but am thinking a pumpkin pie.
Friday, we are doing dinner with my family and I'm bringing twice baked potatoes.
Saturday is with DH's family and I haven't been asked to bring anything yet, but I'm thinking a pumpkin pie and either deviled eggs or twice baked potatoes.
mmm, now I'm hungry.

Those pumpkin angel puffs look DELISH!
We got it easy since the ILs are being not so sweet, husband decided we have no need to celebrate holidays with family that is disrespectful to his wife.
So, we are volunteering at the USO at DFW airport Thanksgiving morning.. we are SOOO excited about this! I think I'm addicted to that good feeling you get when you do something nice for others.
We emailed his grandparents to let them know, since we hadn't heard anything about plans since I sent an email 3 weeks ago, we'd hope to see them soon. and his grandmother was so excited for us to be volunteering, instead of driving up to their place 4 hrs away, because his grandfather served 24 years.
(finally a family member on his side that thinks I'm not a wretched horrible person).
Then, after that, we are headed to my mom's house for an odd-and-ends feast, she makes these unique foods that are all our favorites, and we do that for thanksgiving. which means, i DON'T cook at all!
Since most of my side is passed away, it's just my local siblings and mom, and aunt/uncle, and my husband.
ToNiGhT: we have our 18-30 group Thanksgiving party at our church. I LOOOOVE our holiday parties bc they are actually FUN and not just a regular church get together, like the churches I grew up in. It's in Carrollton/Lewisville, right off of 121, if any of y'all don't have plans.. at 7pm.
