Since no one's asked yet, how did your weekends go?

Friday night we vegged.  Saturday we ran errands during the day then went to dinner for my dad's belated birthday at night.  Yesterday was taken up with a volleyball tournament.

In other words, it flew by!  Yay for a short work week this week!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: Since no one's asked yet, how did your weekends go?

  • Sounds like a nice weekend.

    Let's see:

Friday DD and I had our first ever playdate, at the Whole Foods in Dedham. Then we had dinner out and went to the big Jordan's Furniture in Stoughton. We found a chair and sofa we like, so we're going to swing by tonight and see if they're still there (they were in the clearance section)

Saturday I *finally* picked up a craigslist item in Needham (and sneaked over to the knitting store there ;), then spent the rest of the day getting stuff done around the house (big surprise there)

Sunday we went new (to us) car shopping. DD got to "drive" a '57 Thunderbird. Didn't get a car, but got to check out prices and see how a 2010 Explorer drives.

  • Dr.L, was it Black Sheep that you went to? I checked it out during the yarn crawl and liked that store.

Yep! Turns out the lady I talked to used to work at In the Loop in Needham (which I finally visited last week).  I picked up the Jane Austen Knits magazine :)

  • Friday- i spent the day baking and then my SIL came down and we all went to dinner.

Saturday- I vegged for a bit in the morning and then frosted and decorated 2 cakes and packed up DH, DD, SIL and myself plus the cakes, 22 cupcakes & a thing of meatballs for my mom's surprise 60th. We got to her friend's house who was hosting it and helped with the last minute prep (my sister made all the rest of the food super last minute). We had a great night though. I could barely see straight by the end of it and had to drive home (since my other two adults in my car had been drinking).

Sunday- veg-o-rama. SIL and I did go on a nice walk to get out and get some fresh air.

  • Friday night I hung out at home and went to bed early.

Saturday we spent a little time with MIL for her birthday and then went to my BFF's house for her birthday.

Sunday I had a church thing to do and then we went to a wedding reception for some friends who got married in Aruba.

    It was a busy weekend...

  • I am still fighting this stupid cold, (although I feel mostly human today, finally), so we didn't do much. I mostly slept and vegged, but we did manage to take the dog out for a long-ish walk yesterday afternoon. It was so nice out!

I did more today than I did all weekend. I managed to clean most of the house and do laundry this morning. Now, I'm exhausted, so I'm attempting to watch Tangled and chill. ("Attempting" because my crazy-arsed dog keeps barking every time the cartoon horse shows up. Nutbag.)

  • It was great.  Saturday I got caught up on errands and laundry.  Sunday my parents came to visit.

Are they still driving you nuts with coming by too much? :)

We had a nice break because they got sick, and then they were away on vacation.  Ha ha ha.

  • Friday we bought a "new to us" minivan for DH.  We had been wokring together for 4 years, so we only needed one vehicle.  He's been riding his bicycle to work, but the weather will get in the way of that soon enough.  The minivan is pretty nice for what it cost....and it seems to run OK, so we're happy.  Plus....leather heated seats, I told DH I might switch vehicles with him for the winter Smile

Saturday, DH did some side work, and I took the new minivan for inspection, then did some shopping at BJ's.  DH watched the game he DVR'd and that was our night.

Sunday, we did a holiday photo shoot.....hoping to start a tradition.  Weekend really flew by.....

and I started a temp job today, which is nice....and I'm so happy to get out of the house and make some $.

  • I had such a great weekend. I flew down to MD to surprise my sister who was having a Baltimore Board nestie cookie exchange... next year, Boston board needs to have a cookie swap. Big Smile

It was fun to just walk in to her house with a basket of cookies and she had no idea I was coming down.

Aw, what a great surprise!  I think a cookie exchange next year sounds like a great idea. I'm dying to try some of your cooking since it sounds like you're always making fabulous things!
