once and for all, walk me through JCP photo sessions

is it pricey (i'm googling now)

do you HAVE to buy big packages?

so many ppl use them, they must be pretty good but I'm always hesistant to spend a lot of money on photo packages

please forgive me for being dense.. .I've never had the kids go to a studio or anything and I am so used to making our own cards and stuff via shutterfly i'm trying to decide if I should just snap my own photos again to make my cards.

  • We just used them for C's 1st birthday pics and family pics. I am pleased with the photos taken but have not seen them in person yet. We get them tomorrow. There are coupons out there and if you need some I have quite a few that I won't use. We used a coupon that was for $19.99 and you got 6 sheets. The sheets come in 1 8x10 (I can't remember if they do 10x13), 2 5x7s, 4 3.5x5s or 8 wallets and all pics on a sheet are the same pose.
  • Not sure if they still have them but my sister bought a package where she got a bunch of sittings and a certain # of pictures she used them throughout the year.

  • I LOVE them.  We just went and get ours on Wednesday.  I got the CD this time because of the groupon and needing to make my own xmas cards.  Usually I pay 3.99 a sheet, free sitting.  I usually spend 100-125 each time I go and get a TON of photos.  like 18 sheets is my average and sheet is: 1-8x10, 2x5x7s 8 wallets, 4-3x5s

There are coupons on: coupons.com , Parents magazine, parenting magazine, and other pregnancy, baby mags.

We are portrait club members which was $30, one time.  It is an archive of 2 years (u can renew it) and therefore print pictures from prior sessions with current, mix colleges (say you have 2 kids and wanna do a college of both at 6 months).   With that you get certain discounts throughout the years.  You never pay sitting.  Example: for C's newborns they were awful, she cried the whole tie and Jack wanted nothing to do with her.  So we reschedule for a week later, and it was no cost at us for that shoot.  When we went back I was still able to print 2 shots I liked from prior and then new ones.

MrsE- I have some coupons also. and P's shoes so I can give them to you when we meet up.  Also they (at least mine) will plug in all coupons and see what works best for you.  They have at times too given me better coupons then what I brought.  I go every 3 months with the kids.
