Target Clinic?

Anyone have any experience going to one?

I think I have bronchitis and would like to get something to start getting rid of it before the holiday break - - but my regular clinic is booked up and I am pretty sure my insurance charges a ridiculous co-pay for Urgent Care . . . and I am busy with work so even finding time to go to a regular clinic is difficult.

Target Clinic looks like it is $60 for a visit and takes walk-ins un til 7:30. Sounds perfect!  But are they good?

Thanks!

Re: Target Clinic?

  • I have had good experiences with Target clinic for both me and my DS.  The practioners are really friendly and have always done a great job with diagnosis and giving me information.

I also recently heard them reverse a copay for a patient that they referred to urgent care since they could not help them or the person required a higher level of care.

one note...my DH was advised by Target Clinic and his Dr that because of his asthma, he should never try to use a retail type clinic.  Just an FYI if that applies to you.

  • I've been to a Target clinic multiple times when I couldn't get in at an urgent care or with a primary doctor. I've had a great experience every time. They work with most insurance companies.

  • Another positive review here. DH and I have used them for a variety of reasons and have nothing but good things to say. And, I am also an individual that was referred on by Target b/c the issue proved to need full medical attention and they refunded my co-pay ;-)
  • I went in once for an ear infection and another time for a sinus infection.  Both times I was 99% sure I knew what was going on before I went and just needed a prescription for antibiotics so it was pretty easy.  No complaints here.
  • I know a Nestie who works at one. Big Smile

Actually, DH has always had great service for when he's gone and so have I. Mostly basic stuff - ear infections, sinus infection, etc...

Thanks for all the positive reviews!  I was able to find a clinic branch with an early appointment free tomorrow - so I decided to take it, but I will definitely be checking out Target's Clinic in the future (or sending my husband there this week as he has the same nasty cough as me and hates making doctor's appointments!).

I've used Virtuwell.com for things like this. I got a UTI after my mc and didn't feel like going to a clinic. Within 20 minutes my script was ready at the pharm and MH went to pick it up.

  • True. I have also used virtuwell.com and had a script ready for me in less than 30 minutes at my local pharmacy. They also accept insurance.

  • The one time I was going to use them, they advised me to go to my regular clinic because it wasn't something they were able to take care of.  But they were really nice about it.
  • I've also had good luck with minute clinics.  I normally go there when I get a sinus infection.

DH had a similar experience. In the future, we will call before we go to make sure they treat the issue.

  • Another positive vote for target clinic - in the past I have used them when I knew what the issue was (ie, UTI) and just needed treatment. They have always been nice.

A week or so ago, I was at Target and started feeling horribly - dizzy, heart racing, etc. I was there alone with DD, and I recently had a pulmonary embolism so I was a little nervous. I went to the clinic to have my blood pressure checked. They monitored my blood pressure to make sure it stayed normal, watched my pulse and made sure I was doing ok while I waited for my husband to come pick us up. They didn't charge me at all.
