For those that went back to work while still BFing and pumping, how did you figure out a schedule? Did you just set times and stick to them? Wait until you felt full then pump?
I'm getting anxiety just thinking about this.
Re: BFing-Work-Pumping
ditto. except i gave myself until 530a to wake up
one other "trick" that i am using is putting "Pumping Break" for 30 mins at 10a and 2p on my outlook calendar. that way people know i am not available (easily) for meetings. if i need to juggle things i will but having it on the calendar makes most people respect it. i also take some work with me into the office i use (i'm in a cube so i can't pump at my desk). it is probably my most productive part of the day since there is no phone and email distracting me and i can get a lot of review and comment or budget work done.
you can do it tammy! set the calendar appointments for a month at a time and you feel so accomplished when you need to add another month. it is awesome.
I tried to pump at the times she would feed. We fed on demand but I tried to pump every 3 hours or so based on her last morning feeding. I roughly ended up doing 9,12,3 but would sometimes stray by an hour or so.
Can I say I built a majority of my stash up while I was home on ML. My supply held for a little while of pumping at work but not for terribly long. Pump now while you can. It gets hard when you go back to work.
I weaned from the pump at 9 1/2 months due to my serious hate of it and my lack of supply.
I haven't pumped nearly enough while I have been home. I'm really going to pick it up this week.
Thanks for all the help ladies. I also work in cube land but have a storage/conference type room that I can pump in.
FYI per federal law you have to be provided a clean private space to pump that is not a bathroom.
