I did NOT see that coming!
I missed the first 2 minutes...was this a flash forward? I feel like last week Lily was barely pregnant, and this week she's like "whoa...having a baby SOON!"
Wow, did not see that coming at all!
Well... *if* it's Barney's that potentially sets up for a "this-season wedding" at which Ted meets the mother (which I still believe will end up being Barney's half-sister on his father's side that he hasn't yet met).
This! I've been kind of..meh...with the season, but this episode really brought it back. I'm looking forward to see what happens.

I did NOT see this coming. My H and I just kind of stared at the tv for awhile.
Possible spoiler: Did anyone else hear that Becki Newton is supposed to be joining the cast? I thought that she is supposed to play Barney's new love interest. If that is the case, I bet the baby isn't Barney's.
I actually did not care for this episode at all. When it ended I told H that I feared it was the "jump the shark" episode.
It is a bit too early for it to be Barney's, but I feel like overall they're not being so careful with pregnancy timelines (like most other shows) so it could be. (I know that bothers a lot of people on this board, but I'm ok with it even if it's not consistent with the show in general.)
I think this season will end with the reveal of Barney's bride, and that'll give them another year to get to the wedding. I thought it would be Nora and then the wedding wouldn't happen anyway. I still don't think it'll be Robin as the bride, and I think he'll end up not getting married.

In all honesty, it's possible that we'll never find out about the father. I don't think it would be out of character for Robin to get an abortion. I know that storyline isn't on primetime tv as an option hardly ever, but in the real world some career-driven women in that scenario would consider it.
I think it would be groundbreaking and very real to see how it would affect the characters.
I'm very curious to see how Robin's situation plays out.
Help me on the time-line.
at the beginning of the epidsode, did he say Barney has had a rough couple weeks? So they only did it a couple weeks ago, it can't be Barneys- she wouldn't know yet (most likely)
And no one mentioned the fact that Kevin is the ONLY one not at Thanksgiving??? What the heck! they didn't even mention him!!
Yah, that was weird. I mean he and Robin don't have to spend Thanksgiving together, but to not even mention him was strange.
That could go back to when Victoria (and then FutureTed) saying that Ted, Robin and Barney hanging out in the bar together every night just doesn't work.
I can't picture Robin actually having a baby, so I'm betting it's a miscarriage, a false alarm, or maybe even an abortion although I don't think a sitcom would do that.
I don't want Robin to have a baby, but I *REALLY* don't want Ted and Robin raising Robin's kids together (or Ted just adopting them and then meeting his wife later on) since the theme of this episode was a pair of friends raising a baby together.
I was like, "Well, I think we know who Barney's marrying in the end." It couldn't be Kevin's, right? I mean they haven't alluded to them having sex have they?
I loved the Barney and Ted storyline, and how he just showed up with a baby. It was hilarious.
if they had sex on her ovulation date of day 14, and then her period was late and she has a 28 day cycle, it could work.
This, its a 2 week wait from O to Positive preg test. So if they had sex a few weeks ago it could definitely be barneys.
I don't really like that they made her pregnant. Lily being pg is enough, at least if things change with them as a couple it doesn't really change the whole show. But I can't see how they will make it work if Robin and Barney had a baby together.
Not to mention it would make Ted even more whiney if that's possible. I know he's the main guy, but from the get go I couldn't stand him.
I understand this... and I am thinking it is sitcom world- so of course she would know 2 weeks after. I was just trying to timeline it out-- there is a difference in 2 weeks and a few weeks and I was curious what they said...
Also- the show is coming to an end. so ruining the relationships. having babies, Ted getting more whiney--- it is all going to lead to the end anyways.. Isn't next year the final season? (thought I read that somewhere)
I looked at DH and said "WHAT?! WHAT?! It better be Barneys!"
I really want Marshall and Lily to take the house. It just makes way more sense to me.
