People who don't like an idea and shoot it down, but don't counter with a different option.
For example: I'm trying to get a group of girlfriends together for one last time before the end of the year, and it's seriously is a project trying to collaborate to keep everyone happy. And I swear, there's always one person who doesn't like something, but yet won't offer up something they would rather instead. Like a brunch place -- I love this one joint, and there's one chica who does not, and she tells me so, but won't tell me where she would rather go.
Of course, she's also expect us to schedule around the Patriots games, which is another pet peeve all together...
Re: Pet Peeves
I hate that too. I have one friend at home who is notorious for that nonsense. We finally stopped asking her input for plans and just invited her. If she didn't come, it was on her. She has come several times and picked at food, complained about noise, whatever and the rest of us have resolved to just ignore her. I suggest you and the other friends do the same.
My pet peeve: Obnoxious neighbors. They seem to be spreading around here. There was the unreasonable lady underneath me before, and now one of my coworkers is having issues with an equally psycho woman. WTF people- if you don't live in a SFH and the people around you aren't partying non-stop till all hours, you need to STFU. You signed up for neighbors when you got a condo. Live with it.
Stand up for something you believe in.
When people constantly change their mind and can't make a final decision for anything.
Or when a project is complete and they want to change "one little" thing - only that one thing isn't so little and means changing the ENTIRE project.
Sort of related: I hate when smokers crowd around building entrances. I really don't want to walk through their smoke, but I usually have no choice.
They need to add to the smoking ban, something about how close people can smoke to public entrances/exits or something. I really hate walking through smoke clouds.
It is that way here. You can't smoke within like 50 feet of the entrance.
For all I know it IS that way here, but all the idiots choose to ignore it at no one enforces it.
I believe there is something like that, but the ashtray thingy is right next to the door. Fail.
People who don't respond to emails in a reasonable amount of time. SIL replied today regarding the Thanksgiving menu that everyone else planned last week. At the end of her email she said "just waiting on input from the fam..."
A rental company (COMPANY!) I emailed about a cabin last Monday replied today. Uh, we already booked something else, sir. And seriously this is how you do business?!
This! I want to throat punch people who say this. Haters.
Really I agree with the subject thing, too. All emails should have subjects. Even when I email my mom, I write "hi" or "yuuuummm" or something.
People do this in VA too. We're supposed to drive somewhere tonight and I'm really dreading it because these people seriously act as if it has never rained before.
Stand up for something you believe in.
its illegal in Ohio to drive with your windshield wipers on and not have your lights on...
It's illegal in MD too, so I have it ingrained in my brain driving up here in not-illegal MA...
