I'm hitting a wall - jenn, you probably are too.  I'm getting sleepy even though I've had some caffeine.  I can't wait to go to sleep tonight.  Also, my science thing sucks and I'm scared and trying to figure out what to do :-/  I need some entertainment!

Re: halp

  • Have you done an ask-me-anything yet?  If not, that will at least give you a reason to constantly refresh your browser... :)

  • Ugh, wanna come over and help me pack? Seriously, I'm freaking out right now.

H came from early from work because his eye was bothering him. I had to run him to the eye doc because his left eye is almost swollen shut. The doc told that he has 2 or 3 styes in one eye.

Then as I was backing out of the garage I realized that I have a completely flat tire. I don't think I have time to take care of this before we leave because Costco is running at about a 2 hour wait for the tire shop.

Then I have 9 loads of laundry that either need to be packed or folded and put away.

And now h informed me he cant find his passport. He went to Canada last month with his brother. So, its somewhere in the house, his car or his brother has it.

And I still need to pack.

Oh and I still have some work to do.

    Gah.

haha I'm just freaking out that I've wasted a lot of time because nothing about this project is interesting - I have a couple last things I'm hoping for, but if they don't work, I'll have to find a completely new project.  So I'm thinking I should start getting that backup plan ready NOW so I'm prepared for the worst :-/

husky - I'm sorry about all that!  I've decided to leave work early (was just gone at a seminar I didn't know we had), have dinner and sleep :D

What did the suggest he do? Did he get antibiotics?

The doc suggested he warm a spoon in a mug of boiling water and hold the spoon over his eye and then just let it take care of itself naturally. And he said to keep the eye area clean with a bit of warm water and baby shampoo. Some stuff did come out last night, but it's not all done yet.

No antibiotics though, which I thought was a little weird because the last time I had a really bad one the doc gave me some, just in case. I just hope I don't have to figure out how to say eye infection in Icelandic...

Don't you work at an eye doctor's office? Do you have any advice?

you should probably learn how, just in case!

They don't do antibiotics too often for them. Warm compresses and lid scrubs are the best bet. I suggest filling a sock with uncooked rice and hearing in the microwave. Careful not to overheat it though! I have had these in the past and now use baby shampoo on my lids everyday... It is fabulous!

  • I don't know about treating that condition (sounds like you've got good advice above), but you could call the dr. to tell them you are travelling internationally and ask if that means you should have something on hand just in case.  Then you'll have it available (along with instructions of when to utilize it), and won't have to worry about it.
