DWTS Finale - Who's going to win?

I'll admit it...I voted for Rob Kardashian.  I really like how he's improved over the course of the show.  That being said, I think JR will win.

Re: DWTS Finale - Who's going to win?

  • I loved JR since day 1 and think he should win. I do agree Rob improved greatly over the last several weeks, but my vote is still with JR especially after that incredible free dance he did with Karina.
  • I'm all for Rob and Ricki!

I really didn't care for JR's freestyle dance. I didn't think there was much dancing.

    GO ROB and GO RICKI!!!

  • I really hope JR wins. I think Rob has done wonderful, but hope he doesn't win for the sole reason he's a Kardashian. I love Derek too, but Ricki, I'm just kinda blah about.

I wish they would get rid of Brooke. She drives me nuts. TG for the dvr so I can fast forward every time she opens her mouth,

  • I'm hoping Rob surprises us and takes it all! He's done a great job and held his own. Ricki's free style was eh, and JR and Karina's dance was good, but like the OP said, there really wasn't a lot of dancing on JR's part. Karina yes, but JR no. He seemed to run around and wave his arms up and down to pump up the audience.

I agree.  The focus seemed to be on acrobatics vs. dancing.

I'm not a fan of Brooke's either but she's better (not saying much) than Samantha Harris.  I couldn't stand her.  She was so stilted in her delivery.

  • I think it's up in the air. I want Rob to win. I think he is the most improved but I really don't think he is the best dancer.

I kinda don't want Ricki to win. She has really annoyed me this season constantly bringing up her weight loss and saying that she is the underdog in the competition. Uh, hello, you are NOT the underdog. You have one of the best partners, you are a great dancer and you have been on freakin' broadway!

I feel bad for JR because he has had an amazing season and has really started to fall the past week or two.

I agree completely. I felt like the freestyles this year weren't really that great. I loved Rob & Cheryl I thought they had a lot of content in it. I thought Ricki & Derek's was just ok nothing too special about it, and as much as I have like J.R. I just did not like his freestyle. There was very minimal dancing in it or at least on his part.

I hope Rob surprises everyone and wins because he did the best but I think that J.R. will win because of his storyline.

Uh, hello, you are NOT the underdog. You have one of the best partners, you are a great dancer and you have been on freakin' broadway!

She actually isn't a dancer.  Yeah, she danced in Hairspray (the film, and it was over 20 years ago), and John Waters said that he hired her because she was a good dancer, but really she wasn't a great dancer...she was just the right kind of dancer with the right look for what he wanted.  It isn't like John Waters is Kenny Ortega and knows what great dancing is.;)  He likes quirky, and is all about the underdog, but he is no choreographer.

Fwiw, when Marissa Jaret Winoker was on DWTS, the judges gave her a hard time for not being a great dancer, since she had been on Broadway in Hairspray, and she had to remind them that it isn't even remotely the same kind of dancing, and that she couldn't dance like the dancers in the musical who were true dancers.

She also is a very insecure person, has fought weight issues most of her life, and prior to this show had been depressed and had been through a lot.  I am sure that she does see herself as an underdog, even if others don't view her that way, and she is probably quite excited about her weight loss.  All of this was a huge effort for her and was totally out of her comfort zone, as it is for a lot of them.  Very few of them don't say the same thing during and after their time on the show.

That said, I had been pulling for her because I think she has great technique, but was slightly underwhelmed by her freestyle.  I know that she did well, and it looked more simple than it was (in part because she does have good technique and Derek as a partner), but I was hoping for more excitement...really more from all of them.

Honestly, I would be fine with any of them winning, but I am kind of pulling for Rob.  He underwent such a big transformation, and the last two weeks he has definitely been  holding his own with the other two. He has earned his place as a contender.

Both Ricki and JR have had their ups and downs, and while they have been on top the most, they aren't necessarily better than Rob at this point.

My biggest issue with JR winning is that I think people want him to win because of his story.  I want people to vote for his dancing, not  story.   Even people who have never seen him dance think that he should win.  Granted, he is an amazing man, and deserves respect and well wishes, but the show is about dancing and who does it the best that night, whether it was him or someone else.

I may be in the minority, but I actually vote based on who I felt danced well that night, whether they are my favorite celeb on the show or not.

I didn't mean that she was a dancer on broadway. I made the comment about being on broadway because she has had experience performing in front of groups of people. I would imagine that makes it easier to dance on this show. I wouldn't call her the underdog of the competition by any means, so I just thought it was a little obnoxious for her to refer to herself in this way.

  • Just caught up online - I actually think JR did a lot of dancing in his freestyle. Unfortunately Ricki's freestyle paled in comparison to the other 2. But the really important thing is -

Karina is fuccking ripped! Holy sh!t! Sign me up for dancing if that is what it does for a person. Good god.

  • I'm conflicted.  I have mixed feelings about both winning.  I think JR will win, however I secretly want Rob to win.  I worry that JR will win because of his story, and Rob will win because he's a Kardashian.  I think Rob has really improved the las couple weeks.

I knew you didn't mean that she danced on Broadway, but she wasn't ever on Broadway....she has done films (mostly John Waters stuff) and some television.  I think the only thing she did in front of an audience was her talk show, which I don't think would be the same as dancing in front of an audience.

I actually think hosting a talk show would be scarier, but maybe that's just me.lol
