ugh. this is completely devastating.
Someone I know was arrested yesterday for felony child abuse/neglect and it resulted in a 10 month old child dying.
The warrant report is in the newspaper today (Jaay-it's online) and it makes me totally totally sick.
We know her and her husband, and they have a 2 year old. She was babysitting this child in her home at the time-it was not her kid.
Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

THe new update this morning is that the charge is felony child neglect. She called 911 and said that a child she was watching was purple and not breathing, but the circumstances are being considered "suspicious" and there are some details in the report that are appalling.
It's not someone I'm close to, but we definitely know her and her family and this is completely shocking. Completely.
This is why it's so important that there is open dialogue with parents and caretakers when it comes to recognizing anger and what to do when you feel it coming on. It is completely natural for all of us to experience anger, it's what we do with that anger that is often not discussed. I'm in no way defending those who have shaken babies or injured babies, but lots of times it is done when the mind is not right (anger, stress) some of the kindest and gentleless people can snap. :-( So sad.

I agree Jennrs. I've never had a child but I could see where it would be completely overwhelming when your tired and a child just won't. stop. crying.
