It's a malignant glioma, not lymphoma. The doctors are concerned how non-responsive he is related to the size of the tumor and think that the cancer may be in his spinal fluid too. Results of a spinal tap are expected tomorrow.
If it is in his spinal fluid, they're going to stablize him (he had a blood clot issue today) and start chemo next week. They're hoping to do agressive chemo to shrink the tumor enough/knock it out of his spinal fluid so he's more responsive and then move on to radiation. The doctors feel radiation would be better, but as long as he's on a ventilator, he's not a candidate for it.
There are no plans to even try to move him back home soon so Mark and I decided tonight that we'll be flying back and forth regularly. We can't really stay out there and we don't want Mark's Mom to be solo so much so it seems the only option for now.
