Anyone going to Walmart at 10pm on Thurs?

I'm wondering what's going to happen...I know it says that it's just toys and stuff at 10 and then at midnight it's electronics and what not. I really want to get one of the $100 powerwheels, but there's no freaking way I'm standing in line for hours for it. Has anyone heard how it's going to work? Will there be a separate line for the people that want just toys and the other stuff that starts at 10? I guess I can walk in and walk out if it's insane just like I did last year. LOL!

  • Mostly toys are all over the store!  You never know where they will be but they usually have maps.  You should be able to just walk in grab it and walk back out!

  • I would try to order it online first.   I got an email from ebates http://www.ebates.com/rf.do?referrerid=5ClD%2Fun6H4owHaxF0DciDQ%3D%3D saying Walmart is now paying 4% back when I think it used to be 1%.

At Walmart I always do the site to store pickup for free shipping even though you have to wait forever to pick things up from them since there are no workers back in that area.

  • A coworker is going and said that you can put your hand on the item but can't put it in your cart until midnight. So most people just surround it waiting. I think you are crazy to go there. DH and I were at walmart last night and everything is already out but has sheets covering it. If you just want 1 item I would go find it now and then you know right where to go on Thursday.

yikes!! I see one hand on the item and one hand in a fist when I picture this.  I went to Walmart a couple of years ago.  They had police officers there to control the crowd.

Yea, the problem is that they aren't on the website. I don't know if they will magically appear tomorrow for the purpose of being able to order online or not? Maybe. I remember last year that I went back to Walmart at like 10am and they still had tons of the stuff that was in their black friday ad...so, I'm thinking I may go and see what the situation is, and if it's crazy, just try going back the next morning sometime and hope that they have some left.

  • I am going at 10 pm with my sister in law, but I'm a little worried, I know its going to be a mess and I dont want to be running all over Walmart like a crazy person just to get a $10 crockpot and a steam mop. lol.
  • We went last year at 11pm (when they opened at midnight last year)...we are able to find everything we wanted and had it in our carts and stood in line until registers opened at midnight...I didn't see anyone with hands on products claiming them but also wasn't looking at electronics items so who knows...I would say for the 10pm toys you could go around 9pm get your stuff and wait in line to check out at 10- it was very easy last year
  • The one item I was planning on going at Midnight to get will be at my house when I get home tonight thanks to Amazon.com.  :)  I only had to pay 3 cents more for it.  LOL!  Plus, I saw it at Target last night for the same price as I got it on Amazon, so it's not much of a Black Friday deal at all I guess....
  • I really think it depends on what Walmart you go to as well.  I have never had problems with the Walmart in Papillion but I have heard horror stories about the Bellevue one (dang, now I am encouraging everyone to shop at MY walmart!!).  I also have never gone for huge ticket items like televisions, but 2 years ago I got 2 of the GPS for 50 dollars with no issues.

A friend of mine said she takes all her ads there, gets everything in her cart and then at midnight buys it all and price matches. But maybe it is different if you get pricey stuff or electronics.

I always avoid walmart on black friday. Target I usually wait a few hours to go to until it has cleared out.

  • For the past 3 years I haven't left the house to do my black friday shopping. Look up on-line and see what time the deals will be released on-line. Last year I got a flat screen TV for my niece and I got up at like 1:00 am and just kept clicking refresh until the released the items online. I was up for 5 minutes and went back to sleep. I had a friend that wanted the same TV for her FIL and she went to the store at midnight, stood in line for a couple of hours until they started handing out the tickets for the items and she didn't get one. She wasted HOURS!

There are limited quantities online so I would be sure to be online when they release the items to be sure you get one.

I did the same thing with Younkers and Kohls.

I did online shooping wiht younkers on Thanksgiving day last and it was great!  I did see that walmart may be releasing some online items before the in store sale starts so may check that out and stay at home too as I only am looking for a few things-
