..which apparently is no easy task.
The repairman (an authorized Bernina repairman) thinks he may have to consult Bernina, because he has no idea what is wrong and how to fix it. I broke it while I was sewing Halloween costumes, and I couldn't figure out what the heck was broken or how I did what I did to it either, but I was sure that he would know. *sigh*
I asked DH if he wanted a new sewing machine for Christmas, since we already bought my present, and he hasn't been able to decide on anything to put on his list. I figured it was worth a shot. :P
He actually said 'maybe', which surprised me, since he had sticker shock when he saw the new machines at the store on Sat.. He's been so busy with work, his commute and travel, that he is out of touch with how much anything in the real world costs, except for hotel rooms, gasoline and restaurants.lol
I am hoping that my machine can be fixed, (and soon, we have a job that has to be done in a week and my partner has company so I can't exactly go sew at her house or hand it over to her to do), but I would be lying if I didn't admit to daydreaming about the possibility of an upgraded machine.
Re: :( I think I killed my Bernina...
upgrade, upgrade, upgrade

Oh no!!!!
Wow...as pp said, you killed a Bernina???
And as another pp said: upgrade, upgrade, upgrade...
However, do your research before you buy a new one. When I was looking around last year, I was drooling over the 830, but in the end went for the 730 because there were so many posts about issues with the 830. During my "get to know my Bernina" classes, some of the students had issues with their machines. I sort of supported my decision for the 730. (I'm still drooling over the 830 though).
