Hi ladies, sorry it's a day late but I'm lazy at the moment and my laptop was in the bedroom all day yesterday!
How are you all doing? Ups? Downs?
QOTW: What new traditions have you started since having LO? What new traditions do you want to start?

Re: @ Mums Bumps and BBTs
Ups: D is getting the hang of drinking out of a normal cup. There are still tons of spills, but he actually gets water in his mouth. The last two nights he's actually gone to bed at 11pm instead of staying up until 5 am.
Downs: He doesn't want to sleep in his bed. I don't think he likes the mattress, so DH and I are looking at getting him a twin sized bed so he'll stop sleeping in ours.
QOTW: Pre-baby, we didn't decorate for the holidays, or have a big meal for Thanksgiving. Now we're doing all of the same things I grew up with - Thanksgiving, Christmas (DH's family isn't big on Christmas), Valentines Day, Easter, Fourth of July...etc.
Christmas has it's own tradition. We open our stockings on Christmas Eve. In the morning, I make a large brunch for the three of us - muffins, pastries, coffee/tea/milk/juice. Then we're pretty much set until dinner. Dinner we always spend with the IL's, so we go to their house.
Our gift giving tradition for D is quite simple. He gets one gift each: wear, read, play, and share, in addition to his stocking. We've gotten him a couple of books, a pair of pajamas, a toy and a dvd.
Ups: I've started putting E in fleece soakers while at home and the dry patch on her leg looks much better after one day of less PUL cover wearing yayy. Oh and no more vaccinations until 12 months!! She's trying to get from her back to her front but not making it but she's trying! Oh and we're supposed to go with DH to get a high chair for her today.
Downs: She's sucking at napping at the moment, I'll put her down and she'll be up 10 min later!
QOTD: We're planning on writing a letter each year on her birthday so she can open them when she's older (not sure when yet).
We'll decorate for xmas now, never used to.
I want to do a toy clear out twice a year with her, once on her birthday and once at christmas, I want to find a place to donate them so she'll be giving her old toys to a worthy place.
Ups: DH is back from being away all week last week, which is nice for both DS and I. Less tantrums in the past few days, I think because DH is back, not sure though. DS get his big boy bed on Thursday. Wondering how that is going to be.
Down: I cannot stay on top of my house as DS want to tear it apart. I shutter to think what it will look like when LO gets here.
QOTD: Christmas cards. I didn't do this until I had DS. I would like to do other holidays with him. He will have Thanksgiving, Valentine's Day and Easter with making Valentines and doing an easter egg hunt in out house at least.
I am adding advent, where he will get a little something in each pocket, a Bible verse we will read as a family, and a piece of a Nativity Scene to add each day.
As for any other things have not thought of them yet.
CD1 yesteryday for me, so now on to cycle 14. In two weeks we will hit 1 year of TTC. We're going back to NYC in a few weeks, and I had my hopes up that we would be able to tell family some good news in person, but instead we'll have to find a way to deal with the inevitable questions.
In other bad news, my private insurance has decided to remove any coverage of infertility treatments as of June 30, 2012. Previously it covered everything up to ?15k lifetime. So now we might accelerate our treatment plan, which I'm not sure we're quite ready for. We're meeting with my doctor next week to discuss.
Cecilia arrived 12 October 2012
Ups: N has started to wave and say "bye bye"... very cute! And she thinks dogs are hilarious!! Like, she starts giggling if her grandparents dog (a black lab) moves or wags her tail... She's also getting better at playing independently in her playpen and I'd say she could be crawling very soon. She'll flip over on her change mat and pull herself to the side and reach down to play with the handles of her drawers... a bit kamikaze!
Downs: She has had a cold since last Thursday and I didn't know a child that size could have so much snot!! (though have found that snot extractors are quite good...). I'm having trouble still with my joints and no one knows what is wrong with me - 3 months of 800mg of brufen once/twice a day can't be good for me! And I'm finding it hard trying to reconcile the fact that my childminder actually spends more time with my daughter than I do, though I'm sure any working mother has this issue at some stage.
QOTW: No traditions yet, but I'm sure they will come along... she's not 9mths old yet...
Hello!
I'm much, much better tthan last week
Ups? M is soooo close to walking. I just don't kno whow long she'll be. She understands us properly now. If I say 'You want some mama milk?' She'll nod. I say ' eat your lunch first' and she'll eat more! Fab!
Downs? W had a bad week at nursery last week. It was a combination of ear infection, his best friend being away, but he kept sayign he had no friends, and it broke my heart. The teachers are watching him this week ,but I think he's already happier.
QOTW: What new traditions have you started since having LO? What new traditions do you want to start?
We haven't started anything new I don't think. We've merged my parents' and H's parents' traditions. We open one gift on xmas eve, have an advent calender, don't have a big budget for gifts, have a British meal, etc. On ething I want to do is have new PJs for xmas but I couldn't warrant them this year, as both kids have loads, and the ones I liked (matching) were too expensive. :P
Ups: BabyD continues to be super silly. Has been a freaking riot recently. The little girl is still in, still growing, still healthy, still head down.
And DH made me a baby registry. Actually, him and some guys at work made the registry. Picture a handful of guys, in fatigues, around a computer, picking out pink stuff. I found all this out when DH came home with a big box, said it was for me, and that since it wasn't for Christmas I could look. Inside was a Boppy infant lounger pillow and a pink bathrobe/bootie set.
Downs: I'm grounded from physical activity until I reach 36 weeks. Had an episode of light headedness and shortness of breath a couple hours after a yoga workout, then started having intense, centralized pain and pressure with any kind of workout. Even just walking across the base causes some. So taking it easy until baby reaches the safe point and then I'll try to do walking and light yoga again.
QOTW: No, not really. Thankfully BabyD is too little to know the difference. Poor guy hasn't had a normal Christmas yet and now this year he gets a new baby sister. There are some traditions I'd like to start, like homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning, but we'll get there. Partly, DH and I are still finding our traditions since our families do things quite differently.
Ups: I think we actually have most things ready, although I need to get on packing our bags for the hospital. Baby is still managing to find room to move about and is head down.
Downs: Baby is still managing to find room to move and my organs are a bit tender as a result.
QOTW: I definitely plan to carry on traditions with her, but we haven't quite figured them all out. H and I are both very family and tradition oriented. We've been looking for a good copy of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to start that one this year.
Hi there...been a while since I posted here....hope everyone is well and enjoying the holiday season.
Ups: DS is super interactive and playful. His 2 tooth grin can just about melt my heart every time.
Downs: He's starting to shift his nap schedule and wake up an hour earlier. The difference an hour makes is amazing.
QOTW: DS is basically being included in what we already do, in terms of holiday traditions. I suppose it will just be more fun doing stockings and Santa and the whole hoopla with DS.
Ups: We had our anatomy scan last week and the baby is looking great. We found out we are expecting a boy! We also had an appt with the OB who said he is very pleased with how everything is progressing thus far.
Downs: I am feeling pretty good but I pulled a muscle in my back 2 weeks ago. Its feeling a bit better but still causing me a lot of pain some times.
QOTD: I haven't really thought about it yet.
