Cricut for quilting?
So have been doing a bit of quilting this past year and really want to turn it up a notch. I'd love to start doing some appliqu?s on quilts and clothes for the kids, etc. I also have two very unfinished (unstarted) baby books for my kids (the kids are now closing in on 5 and 2 - OOPS). And with the advent of Pinterest I have about a million things pinned that require vinyl lettering...damn that new time sink.
Is the cricut worth the money? Can I do all these things with it really?
I found this deal at Costco - seems good or am I missing something?

I had a cricut and just got a Silhouette Cameo. I use it mainly for cutting appliques and I love it so much more than the cricut. You don't have to buy cartridges, which is awesome, and you can either buy 3rd party software to work with it or upgrade to their designer software to import svg's. You can't use anything with cricut except their proprietary software/carts, which sucks.
Not to mention, the Cameo cuts SO much cleaner on fabric.
