Christmas cards

Helloooo....is anyone out there today?!

I've been browsing Christmas cards online. We haven't done them before (well not the picture kind anyway).

Do you have a favorite site to buy them from?

So far, I like this one:

http://www.paperstyle.com/is-bin/Holiday-Brocade-Aqua-Red-Square-Photocards-p-609-55-114-A

Do you take your own pictures for them? I think we'll just set up the tripod and take a pic of all of us next to the tree (once I get it up!).

Re: Christmas cards

  • This is the 2nd year we have done them, I can't remember where I got them last year but this year I went through Cardstore.com. I found an 80% off coupon code so I got a really good deal on them.

Since it's just the 2 of us, I just take my favorite picture of us from the year and use that one. This year we also included a picture of each dog b/c the one I liked was a 3 picture one and I thought 3 pictures of us was a little much ;)

  • We ordered ours from Shutterfly. They are having a special where their holiday cards are 40% off and there is also free shipping. I ended up getting 50 cards for 30.00.

Everyone always tells me our cards are so cute. This yr we did just Teaghan on the card. We usually use a picture from either our vacation or just one we took just for the card.

  • Sometimes we do Shutterfly or Snapfish, however, lately I have been buying a design from an Etsy Artist and uploading it on a blank card on either Vistaprint (50 free postcards work great) or even picaboo. I find their designs to be fresh and I can adapt most of them for like 10-15 bucks.

  • Shutterfly is my go-to site. We used them for our save the dates and our last 2 Christmas cards.

The first year we just used a wedding photo and last year my mom took our photo in front of our tree. This year I am hoping to get one in front of our house, but we will see.

  • We use Shutterfly -- this will be our 3rd year with them, and I love them!  As for pictures it depends on what's going on... this year my friend and I are having a joint photo session at her house with her awesome camera with our two babies -- we'll get pictures of them together and apart of our own cards, and it will be fun, comfy and cheap to boot!  Of course, if none come out like I want them to, we can always just use Sam's 1-year photos.

  • We havent done them before but we will be this year.  I design cards and have them printed for friends and family though so Im not sure of a website suggestion either.  I'm excited to finally do our own nd we will be setting up the tripod and taking a picture of us in front of our tree.
  • We do Grace pictures on a photo card.  Sometimes I get it together and do Snapfish, sometimes I don't.  If I don't I buy the stick on photo cards at Target/ Michaels.

  • We put a picture of Rocky on the card. I usually get them done at CVS. I tell myself each year I'm gonna get them done early but it always gets done to late for me to order any cards. I'm pretty happy with the way they come out.

  • I have never done Christmas cards, and neither has my mother or grandmother. We are domestic slackers, apparently. We also never received any from other people growing up, so I amend that to anti-social slackers.

  • I've used Snapfish for the last two years and I've been very pleased.

Also, be careful with square cards because postage is going to cost you double.

I like this site for cards too, and I just got a 70% off coupon code (BLACKFRI) good til Friday!

  • I buy a digital design from etsy and then have them printed at Sams. This year, we took a picture specifically for the card. Last year, we used vacation pics and the year before a wedding pic.

Rach, you should use one of the family pics your photog took. She seriously was the dog whisperer!

  • the times that we've done photo cards, I've used Snapfish.  Last year I just bought abunch of regular post cards from Vistaprint.  We have a ton leftover, so I'm not going to lie, I'll probably send the same ones again this year.

And ditto Mary, careful with the square cards.  I remember going thru that with wedding invites.

  • We did ours through TinyPrints this time but I've always used Shutterfly and always have been very pleased. Only did TinyPrints bc I bought the coupon on zulily a few weeks ago. I think Shutterfly is less expensive and I think the quality is the same. When I orginally was looking when the coupon was offered, the prices were the same but like Sara said,  Shutterfly had 40% off so it definitely would've been cheaper to go with them regardless of the coupon.

We did Holiday photos with our photographer. The whole front is Nate bc the it looked better with all the background being white. The back are some pics from the Pumpkin Patch.

Baby, you've got the sort of eyes that tell me tales...
