Dexter Season 4 *spoilers*
DH and I finished watching season 4 of Dexter (Trinity Killer season) over the weekend and I'm so sad that Rita was killed! I dont have Season 5 yet so I am just dwelling on the way Season 4 turned out... does it really get better like everyone keeps telling me or does it just get really sad?

I agree with both PPs. It really did a number on DH when Rita was killed. When I didn't answer the phone one morning he was sure I was dead in a bathtub.
I liked season 5 but season 4 was the best IMO.
Rita's death upset me, too, and it made me hate season 5.
I know that most people aren't fans of season 6, but I think it may be almost as good as season 4. Keep watching, for sure.
It was definitely sad.
Season 5 is good though. I liked it a lot.

Maybe it's that I couldn't stand the character of Rita, but her death didn't seem to devastate me. It was horrible and sad and tragic the way it happened, obviously. But I certainly don't miss her presence on the show. And the season that followed with Lumen was one of my favorites.
The season I hated the most was, season 2? The one with the British chick from the NA meetings. Ugh. And this current season isn't doing much for me either, but I'm clinging to hope that it will all come together in the last few episodes.

I don't miss Rita at all, the scene scarred me more because of Harrison crawling around in the midst of all of it. I was sobbing about that poor baby watching his mother die and being stuck there for hours like that. my dh was like ahhh you know it's just a tv show right?.....
I agree with you on Season 2 (if anyone else watches Ringer, the British girl is SMG husband's business partner). Season 3 wasnt so great either, it was the one with the skinner... I think Seasons 1 and 4 are definitely the best. Dexter is is an awesome show. I think I just have to get over it and keep watching!
