IHO Thanksgiving...

What are you thankful for this year?

Mine:

My loving H, who will do anything for me, support me, lift me up, and make me smile
My H's impending graduation. HALLELUJAH!
Our lovely home
My family - I'm especially thankful that I actually get to have dinner with them this year instead of just dessert
My job - specifically my AMAZING staff and awesome coworkers
The friends I have that aren't currently driving me nuts ;)
My newfound fitness and appreciation for all my body is capable of
Wine/beer, pizza, coffee, and diet coke! :p

I have a lot more, but I'll stop before I really start rambling.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Re: IHO Thanksgiving...

  • I am thankful for...

    DH, obviously

    Both of our supportive families

    Furbaby Mittens

    My new promotion

That I'm surround by a seemingly never ending supply of books <3

  • I'm thankful for my husband & his determination.  I know that he's never around these days, but I also understand that it's to build a better life for us.

For my two crazy dogs, Lady & Coco, who are always 110% happy to see me and who greet me every morning with their butts wagging and smiles on their faces.  They make me want to be a better, more positive person.

For my dear friend who has been struggling with infertility for the past 5 years.  She inspires me to be strong and to push through the hardest things that I have encountered.  I know that she's always going to be there for me, hiking shoes on her feet & ready to escape to the wilderness whenever I need to get away.

I'm eternally grateful for two amazing parents who, for good or bad, have really made me who I am.  I love that I have my mom's firey personality and my dad's dorky sense of humor.  I know that it's something that I'll carry with me long after they're gone.

SO THANKFUL for our first home.  We got a 1/2 acre piece of America in a charming neighborhood for an absolute steal!  Even though it doesn't always feel like home, I know that it's mine (well ours).

Happy and grateful to have such an amazing job that lets me slack off and post on The Nest as long as I meet my deadlines.  My coworkers have really become my extended family (even though I feel like I'm living a never-ending episode of The Office) .

    And on and on...

  • I'm a little late to the party, but there's never a wrong day to be thankful

I am thankful for H and all of the amazing support that he gives me (emotionally) and the fact that he never complains about being the sole provider for our little family. He is going to be an amazing father one day and I can't wait until I can start working to take some of the load off of him.

I am thankful for my parents. They have been incredible role-models while I was growing up, and as I have gotten older I have become aware of how much they went without so that my sister and I could have incredible opportunities. They are truly my best friends now.

I am thankful that I had four amazing grandparents in my life for 24 years of my life; I am grateful that my grandmother raised me to have a strong faith and know that she is in heaven watching over me as I continue to try and make her proud. I am thankful that my grandfather got to come to Georgia and spend thanksgiving with my mom, my sister, my H and I instead of spending it alone.

I am thankful that I have one semester of grad school left and will have completed undergraduate and grad school and be debt-free.

I am thankful that I live in a country where if you work hard and are willing to start at the bottom, anything is possible.

I am thankful for my health this year. Finding out what my true food allergies are and being able to correct my diet has made an amazing difference in my quality of life. I am thankful that I can run and lift and had parents that enforced healthy habits. I love that my H will run with me even though I am much slower.

    Etc.

  • Aside from everything day to day that I'm so thankful for, this year I'm so thankful for the fact that DH and I both have jobs that we absolutely love. There's nothing like coming home with a smile on your face just thinking, "wow, I am so lucky!"

I'm also thankful for our ability to be buying a house soon. Fingers crossed that we put in an offer tomorrow, and it is accepted!
