Seriously, why can't my mother pick on my brother's wife? So annoying.

I'm curious to see how things work out for us tomorrow. My uncle has never hosted, and he's only doing it because his son and his family is going to be in Arizona at the Mayo Clinic (I think that's right) getting tested for some horrible disease. My uncle is well over 80. He bought a new house a few years ago and has evidently decorated it really nicely. My mom didn't want people to go there because we'd just "mess it up." My uncle responded with, "what's the point of a home if no one ever visits you?" Then there was this whole debacle about paper plates and a small kitchen...aye yai yai. My sister's mad at my mom, and started calling all of our relatives a-holes (which is kinda true, but you don't choose your family!). I just said, "Uh huh" to her on the phone through her tirade.
And poor H is just going for the food. I'm happy to go and watch all this go down. I don't mind my family, as they have never done anything to me to piss me off like they seem to have done to my sister and mother.

Ugh, already? What a nightmare.
My MIL just called and left a lengthy message on my voicemail requesting that I "run to Academy" and buy a volleyball and a volleyball net. For the family. To play at our house. On Friday, which is supposed to bring shittastic weather. That we'd have to store somewhere.
NO.
And, cue the phone calls from at least 2 relatives guilt tripping me for not driving 10 hours home for Thanksgiving (when, in 3 weeks, I'll be spending almost 2 and a half weeks there) in 3...2...
I agree! I want to fast forward to January 4th!
