Question (Intro?)

Are there regulars on this board?  Because I watch a helluvalot of TV and love movies and books and music, so it might be fun to hang here some.

Also, how active is the board?  I've never lurked here at all.

I guess what you need to know about me is that I live in KY, I love UK basketball, I'm a preschool aide, and I have a cat (who is currently laying on her back with her legs splayed, asleep!).

Re: Question (Intro?)

  • There are a lot of regulars here, so welcome! Most of the talk is centered around movies and TV, with some music thrown in.  For book talk, definitely check out the Nest Book Club board, there are a lot of awesome people there too.

I am also in the watch a helluvalot of TV club and I'm always happy to find new members.  I love movies as well.  The board is fairly active, it definitely moves during the day.  Hope you like it here!

  • Hi! It can be slow at times but if you're here during prime time you're likely to see discussions about shows that are currently airing or just aired. Jump in anytime.

    I love this board. Smile

  • Fantastic.  I will add this to my bookmarks.

I did the NBC thing for a while... even did one of the challenges.  But when I was made to feel like I was less than human for not caring a snit about Harry Potter, I gave up on it.

My favorite TV shows are Sing Off (posted my outrage in the thread below), Project Runway (when it's on), American Horror Story, Work of Art, and...... umm..... most of the other stuff isn't worth mentioning.

  • Oh that was you in the Sing Off post! Smile

We really love American Horror Story!

Sadly, I think I am done with Project Runway. I said I was giving it up after last season but then I didn't. This time I think the break up is real.

I have never seen Work of Art. What network?

    (4) I have never seen Work of Art. What network?

#1  I am mildly obsessed with The Sing Off.  Was a vocal music major, grew up on a capella music, and am immersed in music every day of my life.  I can't believe it gets to me so much.

#2  H and I are OBSESSED with AHS.  I am so blow away that they are able to make a whole series out of a horror story.  I was admittedly skeptical, but have been nothing but happy with it.  Especially after the last episode and hopefully the next week's.

#3 I have watched PR from the beginning and I won't be letting it go.  I just can't get over the artistry of it.  That's not to say that I don't have my beef with it.  It irks me when they have super couture challenges but only give them 24 hrs to complete it.  WTF ever, Heidi.  And this past season had too many group challenges.  I know it's all for drama's sake (just like The Sing Off), but seriously, enough is enough.  That show went waaaaaaaaaaaaay downhill when it got taken over by Lifetime.

#4 Work of Art comes on Bravo on Wednesday nights at 9:00 EST.  It's modeled after Project Runway but focuses on artists, not clothing designers.  While it's not the best show ever, I just love being exposed to all kinds of different types of arts and artists.  It's only in its second season and I hope it keeps going.  It really flies under the radar as reality shows go.

  • I'm not a regular on this board, but I do check in for the few shows I do watch.

The fact that your a Racer is exciting!  I'm not an alumni, but I have two friends that work there now!

Welcome--I'm glad you also enjoy the sing off, I'm going to go check your post!!

  • Hi there. There are definitely regulars on this board though some of us tend to stick to posting about the shows we regularly watch. It's very active, but like I said it seems most stick to posting about their favorite shows. Welcome and happy posting!

  • Welcome! I am on here pretty often, although I don't post all the time. I am sort of known by some for my obsession with SVU, and I also watch a crap ton of other TV shows. I gave up PR this season, and I have to say I don't miss it at all!

Hope you like it here! It's one of the more drama-free boards, IMO!

Hey! My H went to UK, so we are big Wildcat fans and heart John Wall!

Also NBC hasn't had a ton of HP chatter lately, so you should come back!

Ask you H if he thinks this year's team will be even better than the John Wall year, because I am of the opinion that it will be.  Kinda scary.

I do pop over on NBC every now and then just to see what folks are reading, but lately I've been so inundated with books that I bought on my Nook and as hard texts that I feel like I need to catch up on those before I can even think about researching any new reads.  I got really overwhelmed there for a while and seeing people list all these other awesome books just freaked me out.

John Wall's year was bananas. I couldn't believe how many freshman were drafted from that team. I confess that I watched a crapton of sports clip shows the following months just to see all the highlights from them (and Johns Wall's sweet dance moved)....and I typically avoid those like the plague.

My GR to-read list has multiplied like crazy based on everyons recs on NBC. It makes me happy though.

  • I regularly lurk here.  There is usually a thread for my favorite shows every time there is a new episode.

  • Hey, blueandgold -- fellow Kentuckian!  Not sure if you recognize me, but we've talked a bit on our super slooowwww KY board.

We don't have cable so my TV time is a bit limited now, but I still manage to watch some trashy reality shows online as well singing competitions.  I also get my fix of The Office and other shows 10 years behind everyone else on Netflix.  I check this board and post pretty often.
