Suckage

Neena and Jake just left to spend Thanksgiving with his family. I'm stying in Des Moines because I have a client who is due any day now. As much as I love my job, I'm really feeling down in the dumps about this.

This is my first holiday all by myself. I was just on FB and started crying because all of the posts have to do with being with family for Thanksgiving.

I really wish Neena and Jake would've stayed in Des Moines so we could've had a nice little Thanksgiving. But, Jake insisted on going to his family's even though I told him I was going to be sad. I understand where he's coming from though. Oh well.

Sorry for whining, but I just had to get it off my chest.

Re: Suckage

  • Man, that does suck! I'm sorry Jenn.  If I lived in Des Moines I'd invite you over!  And you are a better woman then me....Gregg would not have left me alone for the holiday.

Do you have any friends who's Thanksgiving you can crash?

Trust me, I was a little upset about it and heard about it. HA!

I got invites from three different friends to go to their Thanksgivings, which is so awesome and feel very blessed to have so many great friends in my life. One of them is a fellow doula who is hosting a "loner Thanksgiving" for all of us castaways (other doulas, those without family in the area, a couple single mamas) so I'm 99.9% sure I'm gonna hit up that one! Bonus: one of the gals is married to the manager of our Trader Joe's so she's supplying all of the wine and cheese!

ETA: I'm really hoping my client goes into labor tonight!

  • ((Jenn)) That does suck.... I know I would be sad if DH took the girls and I stayed home.  Do you have someone local you can spend it with???
  • That does suck Jenn, sorry!  However, I kind of think mish-mash 'loner' Thanksgivings sound like a lot of fun and a great alternative :)
  • I agree that the loner Thanksgiving sounds like a blast!!  I hope you can enjoy your friends and a couple drinks and have fun with the holiday.  I hope the delivery goes really well!
