had my first-ever PSL today

And I have to say, I was a little underwhelmed Embarrassed It was too sweet, I think. I didn't even drink half--and it was $4! Way more expensive than what I usually get.

Back to mochas for me!

Re: had my first-ever PSL today

  • I get them iced, I think it waters down the sweetness a little. If you want a super sweet one the salted caramel is the way to go....way too sweet for me!
  • I'm with you, I think they are too sweet...I'm not a fan. However, I LOVE the gingerbread latte. It is perfection :)
  • I still think the PSL syrup has a different recipe than it used to, because I still do dearly love my Coffee Mate pumpkin spice creamer and the PSL just didn't taste that good.  I don't feel nearly as ripped off paying the same price for a gingerbread latte, since it tastes better in comparison.

  • As weird as this sounds, I think I did, too. (I don't drink coffee. Never ever have tried it; can't stand the taste and bitterness.)   I wanted something PS so I ordered a PS steamer which is with just hot milk.  But it is brown (shouldn't a steamer be white?) and tastes pretty bitter, like coffee flavored things I've eaten before.  And now I think I have coffee breath.  The cup says SM for steamed milk.  Is it possible the PS flavoring adds the bitterness and color?   Or did I accidentally have a latte?

Yes! I'm almost certain they changed the syrup a few years ago. I used to really like the PSL, but then one year they brought it back and I thought it was gross. I don't think my tastebuds changed that much. I'm convinced they changed it (and ruined it).
