Moving furniture & Holiday Decorating

Okay, so I broke my no Christmas before Thanksgiving rule.

FWIW, I am on vacation today, have to work Friday and it's sunny and 50's - perfect for going in and out of the shed.

Anyway.

Do you have to move furniture to accomodate the tree/decorations?

Re: Moving furniture & Holiday Decorating

  • We have a very awkward living room so we end up moving an end table downstairs so that we can slide the tree in.
    Happiest place on Earth!

  • I have a bookshelf on either side of our TV stand, one of those goes away so that the tree can fit in our living room.

  • I didn't last year, but this year we have a chair in the corner where our tree goes, so I'll have to move it. It's just a small chair from Ikea, though, so moving it isn't a big deal.

  • We rearranged the furniture in our house (brought the stuff from downstairs, up) so now the TV is where I used to put the tree. We'll have to put the tree in another corner of the living room this year.
  • This year because of having a new rug, I'll have to do something, yes.  Not sure what I'm going to move yet.

  • We have a corner in our living room where our tree fits without having to move anything around.
  • This will be the first year we put up a tree in this home, I'm not sure if we have to move furniture yet.

  • I have no idea what we're going to do this year.  Last year we crammed it into our Living Room (front of the house, big front window and only living space in the house).  This year we have so much more Jane stuff, not to mention the floor space we'd lose :(.

I was thinking of maybe putting it in a corner in our dining room but don't know.  Blah. Stupid tiny baby house.

  • Normally, we have a small chair at the front door and a bigger chair where the Christmas tree goes. When the tree goes up, the small chair goes in the corner of the dining room, the bigger chair goes where the smaller chair was, and the tree goes up.

This year, small chair is already in the dining room because the PNP has been in its place since Landon was born. I'm thinking we're going to have to fold up the PNP for a month while the tree is out... or maybe not. He's SUPER fast with his crawling now, and into everything, so the PNP comes in handy when I need to cook, pee, etc. Now that the in-laws are moving out, I'll have 4 less eyes to help me, so the PNP may just stay out... who knows where... in the middle of the living room I guess.

Let me just say that having a kid has totally made me slack on my OCD... just out of necessity for baby stuff!

  • This is the first year we are getting a real and larger tree in our house.  So, yes we will need to rearrange some furniture in the basement but nothing major.  Hmm, actually I hope it fits in the basement.  Otherwise, we will be rearranging everything in the living room!
