Apple Pie.

Do y'all use brown sugar in your apple pie recipes?  I'm thinking it would be rather tasty in it but I've never baked an apple pie with it... I cant decide if I should shake things up and try it or stick to my usual simple recipe. Or just go wild and make two, one of each (goodness, I feel like a rebel).

  • I make a mix of 1/2 brown and 1/2 white sugar and then toss my apples with it and then dump the whole thing in a pie crust.  I also make a crumb topping with brown sugar...I like that better than the pastry top.

    French apple pie is what I believe she is referring to. It's a mix of brown sugar, butter and flour, because of the butter in the topping you don't add butter to the apple filling. And just in case you need a visual?  Stick out tongue
