Re: Babies and bumps

  • I had a great doctors apt yesterday.  Everything seems to be perfectly on track.  I got to hear the HB again, which was awesome, and she gave me the requisition paperwork for my anatomy scan, so now that's booked.

Now, we count down until next Friday when we go in to make sure everything growing properly, and hopefully find out what we're having (I'm betting on velociraptor).

I'll try and snag an updated bump picture later, but might end up updating it tomorrow.  The work bathroom is very dark, and it's hard to snag a good picture!

  • I've got my first doctor's appointment tomorrow. I'm excited and nervous - hopefully everything is okay and I can tell my parents soon. Frankly, I can't wait to find out how far along I am. I'm hoping for less time rather than more, if nothing but so I can finish out the school year.

The cramping has calmed down, but the m/s has ramped up, which I'm not loving... especially as it's not confined to the morning.

  • Kaesha- Good luck at the doctor tomorrow. Be sure to post an update.

Nothing new over here with my boys. Preston is as curious as ever and Jordan still isn't feel good from his surgery.

  • Down: Darian is sleeping like absolute crap these days. I think he woke up 5 or 6 times last night. We had to transition him to the crib finally, because he's too big for his pack n play. It hasn't made much of a difference in the sleeping, but he's just that much farther away when I have to go to him now. He was also super cranky the last couple of days, but that might have been a residual effect from his shots last week (I've been told that some kids react after several days). He seems more cheery today so I'm hoping that keeps up.

Up: He's learned how to reach for things and now he won't stop! Any time something is about arm's length, he goes for it. I love watching him learn new things. You can tell that he gets really proud of himself. And he understands praise... if he does something and we say "Yaaayyyyy!" he flashes us a huge smile.

  • Joseph turned 11 months yesterday, so the countdown to one has begun. He is now pulling himself up to stand on everything, but is not cruising just yet. He is also cutting his upper two front teeth simultaneously, so that's been fun.

He says "dad", "ha ha" and "yeah", but everything else is still indecipherable babble. He has grown a ton of hair, so it's now all wavy/curly in the back and wavy/straight on top. There's still more growing in now around his hairline in the front, which is good, since in some pictures, he looks like he's wearing a hair piece.

This photo is from Saturday when he pulled himself to stand at the jumperoo. He was working up the courage to do that since the bottom part moves too much. If youa re wondering what that tall black object is behind him, it is DH's telescope

  • Good luck kaesha and raynes on your upcoming appointments!  Please keep us posted.

I also have a follow up appt with my doctor next week to discuss next steps.  We'll probably be moving on to IUI soon, but I'll post an update following the appt.

  • ringy - Darian might be going thru the 4 month wakeful period. I don't give much credence to the wonder weeks because they don't seem to affect O very much, but the 4th month was rough in our house for a week or so. I hope it passes soon.

kaesha - good luck tomorrow! Please let us know how your appointment goes.

Things are going well with us. O will be 7 months tomorrow. She has her two bottom teeth, can sit up unassisted, has started eating some solids, and more importantly, is back to STTN. She's such a happy baby and is always smiling and laughing. She is becoming a momma's girl and is really attached to me these days. I'm so excited to celebrate the upcoming holiday's as they will all be her first.

  • We are doing great. We are visiting family in Ohio and Gman is doing great. He is such a happy baby. He is sm pictureiling and cooing which is adorable! He is doing pretty good sleep wise only getting up once or twice a night. Someday I will post an updated picture. He has changed so much and is so big!

  • We just had our 4 month checkup today. Thankfully, he seems to be handling the shots much better this time. He screamed bloody murder, but then calmed down once I gave him a bottle. He's been sleeping since I put him in the car around 2, so a 2 hour nap...not too shabby. Worked out well for me since I had other errands to run. Poor planning on my part with his doc appointment right in the middle of his usually extra long nap for the day.

Great news: the doc said he's into the 20th percentile for weight, a whopping 14 pounds. That's over 4 pound weight gain from our 2 month appointment. That's above average, but not outrageous. I think he's just making up for being behind as a preemie. His height is still only in the 5th percentil, at 23inches. His head is in the 65th percentile. Haha. Thankfully he's much more proportional than his cousins. They're like little bobbleheads, even as toddlers.

We're finally getting him to babble more, and he smiles and laughs at pretty much everything these days. I may have put him on a blanket and pulled him around the living room yesterday because he thought it was so hilarious.

  • kaesha - good luck at your appointment

sushi - good luck at your appointment.  I hope you guys get set up with a good plan.

Today I am 19w1d and I have an appointment tomorrow.  Not too much going on here.  Got to see baby at my surprise ultrasound at work last week but otherwise, I don't really feel any movement that I can tell but apparently I have an anterior placenta.  My anatomy scan isn't until Dec 6th.

I'm starting to show but not too obviously to the point that a stranger would pick it up.  I'm probably going to tell work next week.  I show more in my workout clothes than my work clothes.  At the gym I just look fat and I'm waiting for someone to walk up to me on the treadmill and say "I really don't think that's working for you." lol  I can't wait until I have an obvious bump and people can tell I'm pregnant, not just hungry.

Here is my bump in my comfy clothes after work.

  • I actually caught this thread on time so, so Ill play :o)

Makenna is almost 17 months and talking a ton. She is starting to put words together to make phrases like "Bye bye Daddy" or "Mommy Elp" (help). She LOVES to sing. This week she learned to walk around on her tippy toes, and thinks that's the greatest thing ever. And the thing I am most excited about? In the last week she has slept for a 6-8 hour stretch each night. That's a huge deal for us- since she hasn't slept that long since she was about 3 months old.

I cant believe how fast everyone's LOs are growing! It seemed like just yesterday they were born! They are all SO adorable!

Good luck at your appointments ladies!

  • Evan is doing great! He's getting more curious and focusing on things. He loves being walked around so he can look at everything. If he gets fussy, I can pick him up and dance with him and sing to him and he quiets right down. I love it. He slept NINE hours straight the other night! It was freaking amazing. He went to his first tball game (my nephew's) and went to church for the first time. His baptism is scheduled for Dec 4th.

DH is going back to work on Monday, so I'm nervous about that. It's been great having him home with us this whole time.
