We have to buy a new fridge for our house and want to get all new appliances while we are at it. ( I really want a double oven.) Have any of you ever sold a major appliance? How did you do it? I have never used craigslist and it scares me.
Re: selling our stove/oven
Craigslist... all the way. Put a photo up, price right and they will be gone.
What's so scary about craigslist? If you stay out of the looking for ads, I think you will generally find okay people looking for a bargain.
Lots of people use it. Just don't be stupid about it and take a couple of safety precautions... when I sold our dryer I put it in the garage so people were not in our house. We sold it that day along with our deep freeze.
I've sold lots of stuff on craigslist and have met a lot of nice people. I got rid of most of my baby stuff this way. I prefer it over garage sales.
I go and pick stuff up from craiglist all the time and haven't disappeared yet.
Whenever we sell stuff, I make sure DH is home when the person wants to look at it.
