Quick update

The neurologist I saw was really thorough and nice. They gave me a routine EEG in the office, but I don't know the results. However, she has ordered a 72 hour in-home test to be recorded, an MRI and blood work. She feels confident that, if it is my fear, we should be early enough on to stop the progression. I'm still rattled, but seeing her made me feel more confident.

Thanks aain for your reassurance and vibes.

Hope Thanksgiving was great for everyone :)

Re: Quick update

  • I am glad the visit went well and you are feeling less apprehensive about everything.  I hope she is able to figure everything out soon.

  • My next appointment with her is December 21st. The 72 hour EEG is Dec 12-16, the MRI I have to wait for approval, and the bloodwork I'll go for Wednesday. So I'll get all the results on the 21st. After that she'll give me the EMG to see if I have cubital tunnel in my left arm (highly likely, not looking forward to that test, eeeep!)
  • I'm glad the appointment went well...hopefully you get some answers soon and that the answers will ease your anxiety a bit.

I've never heard of that - carpal tunnel yea, but cubital tunnel no. Off to google!

  • Know when you hit your "funny bone"? There's a cluster of nerves there that you hit that causes that sensation. When that nerve bundle becomes irritated, cubital tunnel occurs. It's a repetitive nerve damage injury. Likely my waiting tables and balancing plates, mainly on my left arm, caused the issue. Ironically, J has it in both arms from when he worked at UPS.
