Ours was good!
We got a Cabbage Patch doll at Target, our My Little Pony and Fisher Price Animal Choo Choo are cheaper on Amazon and I'm going to wait them out for Cyber Monday.
Ulta had every color Muppet polish in stock except for Gonzo, so I got one of those (Rainbow Connection, which is going on my nails tomorrow).
Best Buy was, as always, a madhouse. We skipped the line that wound around the store and ordered Inception on Blu Ray for $8 on Amazon.
We got the best deals of the day at Macy's- $28 for the D4 Dockers and $12 for Club Room shirts (and we found 2 that fit Kirk's odd neck/ super long arm measurements), plus the additional 20% off coupon they sent me= less than $100 for 2 full outfits plus under clothes. I'm going to go back later and peruse the housewares- the entire floor was too packed to shop this am.
Then, since we didn't spend as much as anticipated, we placed a large NBA Store order (even though I wanted to boycott because of the lockout) since that is all Kirk wants for Christmas apparently.
Re: How was the Black Friday experience?
I didn't shop, but my experience was dodging stupid people who don't know how to use the damn sidewalks and crosswalks.
Their stupidity would make it not my fault if I hit them, right?
Probably not, but jaysus, how hard is it to stay out of the freaking street?
I went to Michael's last night and bought so much ribbon I need to get another tote for them
Now I just woke up so I am going with my mom to the funiture store to get a chair for my grandpa and then maybe just check out some stores to see whats left.... (and maybe get some more ribbon!)
Fantastic!
Our initial plan was to go to Kohls for their midnight opening, but right before I was about to head over to my sister's house Chris' cousin sent me a article which stated that because of Massachusetts' Puritanical blue laws, no retail employee could work before 12:30am on Thanksgiving, therefore all midnight openings in the state were pushed back to 1am or later. Kohls' website confirmed the same.
So my sister and I stuck to our guns. I was over her house until 10:00pm watching BBT reruns, then with coffee in hand we went to check out the situation. The signs in and around the store confirmed the 1am opening, but we weren't the only ones who were there at that time either... so we grabbed a parking spot and with the heat blasting we sat in the car for another hour. At this time there were only 5 silly people in line out in the 35-degree night, and we needed a bathroom break, so we headed back to my hosue up the street, content with our scoping of the situation.
We went back around 11:45pm and the line had definitely grown, exponentially, so we waited for an hour in the cold, watching the people who thought it was a midnight opening turn and leave. It was amusing, to say the least.
1am rolls around, and we're off. $100 king sheets for $20 was my biggest get. Also bought presents for the babies in my life, bought Samma the last turtle pillow pal in the store, a couple presents for Chris, a gray duster sweater for myself, and all in all, it was a productive night. Add in coupons, it was $100 spent on $400 worth of merchadise.
And now here I am. At work. And chugging coffee.

I can't find Gonzo anywhere, and that's the one I want the most!

Also yesterday I scored at ON with a few things for myself, Sam, and the other babies I know.
Bought Chris LL Bean slippers yesterday with 10% off and free shipping.
Right now I'm stocking up on K-cups at coffeewiz.com...
My credit card should just stay on my desk today.

Ames told me, I was looking for you.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Yeah, I'm a bad binge shopper- I went to sephora.com after I logged off of here and Amazon to buy a couple of other things.
Then I slept and now I'm on Erin Condren trying to burn my vouchers.
Stand up for something you believe in.
Awww she's so sweet! ?
Still makes me sad it's non-existent... =(

Is this the nail polish? http://www.amazon.com/OPI-Muppets-Collection-Lacquer-Connection/dp/B005R4TO6K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1322247253&sr=8-3
*nods* but getting it without having to pay the shipping is the catch... at least for me. I mean I love it, and my local salon has it so I can always walk in and get my toes done, but yeah... I can't see paying shipping for half the price of the bottle ><

Ah, gotcha. Shipping sucks sometimes.
Too bad it doesn't qualify for Amazon Prime. Or maybe it does if you spend $25+?
Neg -- it's a 3rd party. I've looked, too... no Prime options available for any Muppets OPI products. Sadface.

Good! My sister and I went out at 10, stood in line outside of TRU for about 40 minutes waiting to get in, got what we needed and waited in line for less than an hour. I wanted a Leapster2 for Connor (the boy I nanny for) and totally scored one. I also bought the Elephant Ball Popper, some Crawl and Cruise Musical Gym thing that looks super fun, and a Walker to Wagon thing that was like 13 bucks. I know she's little still but those prices were too good to pass up and I'll do my best not to pay full price for any of that stuff.
We hit up Kohls next. We spent most of our time in there looking, hmming and hawwing over things. I think we waited in line for 2 hours to check out. That sounds insane but it wasnt bad at all. We just started shooting the sh!t with the people around us and laughing a lot. I bought stuff for my mom, a robe for Jesse, new bathroom towels (for when I finish redoing the bathroom....that I havent started yet), the throws that were $9, and decent bed sheets for our bed at $15, and a few cheapo sleepers for the baby.
We braved the mall around 3, hit up Aero and Claires. I scored the cutests earrings for my niece at 10 for $10. Most are those packs with 6 or 8 sets of earrings. Aero was really good I thought. They did 50% off the whole store plus an additional 20% off everything. I was able to cross off my sister and brother plus my sister's BF. Their sweatshirts were $12 before the 20% discount and while I'm not usually a fan of Aero the kids like it so whatevs. Good things for super cheap.
I reeeally want to go back out to Kohls but I think Jesse would kill me if I leave him for the 2nd time today with Olive. I'm planning to go tomorrow for a few Christmas things from Kohls. Ive been watching the cloth diaper sales too hoping to score some good deals.
Yay Black Friday!!
Mom and I did our annual shop-a-thon and it was great. Normally, the only complaint we have is that the lines are super long but I think b/c stores opened at midnight and we started around 3am (we aren't there for electronics or toys, so we opted to sleep in a little), the lines were pretty much non-existent.
I got some tools for CB at sears, which was our first stop. Then we headed to kohls were I literally got 4 giant bags of stuff (most of which was clothes and stuff for the house) for less that $125. We went to Bath and Body Works too which was awesome - I had $50 worth of giftcards for cashing in credit card points so I got all kinds of goodies for only $10 out of pocket!!
Target, World Market, and JCPenney were all in the shopping center we were at, and I got great deals at each place. We stopped at Bed, Bath and Beyond so I could get all of the stuff I needed for my bathroom re-model w/ the 20% off coupon. The worst was the mall... by that time, it was about 9 am and everyone was out and crazy. But, I did score at NY and Co - 9 tops, 2 pairs of pants, and a few pieces of jewelry for $168!
I have a vent about Macy's - why the f do they even give out coupons when you can't use them on ANYTHING??! Also, their lines were horrific. If I didn't have gift cards that were given to us for CB's bday, I wouldn't have stepped foot in there. Worst.
My best deal was at BJ's. CB wanted a home theatre/surround sound system, and they have an amazing deal on a Samsung one - originally $350, on sale for $269, and the BF only deal brought it down to $199. We didn't make it there until almost 11 and I was able to score the last one, phew!
So now that I'm done w/ my Christmas shopping, bring on Cyber Monday shopping for myself
Technically speaking I had my first Black Friday experience. However it was a voyage to Wal-Mart on Thanksgiving night at 10pm to get pizza, milk, and orange juice!
I was house sitting and my sister and I forgot to bring leftovers with us after Thanksgiving dinner. So from 8-10pm we went back and forth trying to talk ourselves into and out of going to Wal-Mart for pizza.
I didn't have a panic attack with all the people so
for me.
I will have to say, that I give you gals credit. I don't think I could go to those mad houses with an actual list.
