Black Friday- what did you get?

Re: Black Friday- what did you get?

  • Mom and I went out last night. Toys R Us opened at 9 so we figured we'd just get there when they opened to avoid waiting outside since there wasn't anything we "had" to have. The line was wrapped clear around the building, people were parking 1/2 mile away and walking, and the kicker- they were letting 25 people in at a time, waiting 10 minutes, then letting the next group in. Needless to say, we left.

We planned to go to Target and Kohls at midnight, but since we had some extra time we went to Walmart in between. The place was insane so we just laughed at people and left. Then we looked at our list, decided it wasn't worth it, and came home.

I got online and got everything I wanted, with free shipping. I'm not sure why I didn't think of that before! I got DH an xBox 360 from GameStop. My best deal was from Kohls- a $26 down comforter (normally $120), a $64 winter coat (normally $160) and a $8 hooded towel (normally $25). My total was around $110 but then I got free shipping and found a 20% off online code, so I spent around $85 for all of that! Plus got Kohls Cash. :)

Today I'm debating going to a few places, but seeing as it's 9am I'm not expecting much. Something to do really. Hope everyone else fared well!

  • I stayed in.  I did order some tall clothing from JCP's yesterday online.  Now I'm going to try to be much more conscious about not spending and I know if I go out, I'll find something to buy that I probably don't need.

  • I went to 4 stores all after 7 am. No crowds, no lines, it was awesome! Walmart was a bust, I didn't find anything I wanted so I got pjs and a hardcover story book for my nephew and left. Kohls I got DH a pair of sweatpants orig $48 for $10. The othe two places were CVS and Walgreens and I hit the jackpot! Walgreens I spent $9 and left with 2 bags and $16 Reg Rew. CVS I spent $7 and left with 5 bags and close to $20 ECB! I was pumped!!

  • I booked a photography session with a local photographer who was doing a Black Friday deal on her FB with one-hour sessions for $150 (usually they're $225).  I've been wanting some good family photos done for a long time, and she is one of the best photogs in the area, so I'm really excited!

That's it, though, other than a good night's sleep!

  • DH tried Walmart last night , he wanted an Xbox, but it was crazy people parking far away so he just came back to the hotel. I went to the lift this am, they were having a 50% off sale and  I walked out happy-- a dress, jeans, 2 shirts, and a sweater for 180 bucks. Plus earned 3 $25 savings cards good next week. And I went to a local Christian bookstore and got Elle a little people nativity set for 25 bucks.

  • I looked on Amazon and got my brother a weight set for $300.  He's been wanting it for a while and this is a good deal for this particular weight set.

I did not bother with the stores, just didn't have it in me.

  • DH and I went out after our OB appt. this morning. We just went to babies r us and got Madison's nursery furniture. We got her crib, changing table, & recliner all for $300! Also picked up a cute clock and light switch cover for her room. And BRU looked no different than any other day. Could have been since we got there at 10 am

  • Omg...we started last night at 7...I got home at 10 this morning. Walmart was INSANE bit I wanted a camera and fought for one-we were first in line bit people were near fiat fighting for them. Went to Old Navy and got the girls super cute outfits. We waited in line at the checkout for over an hour. Went to the mall/Target-wasnt horrible. Next to Menards, stood in line for 2 new for the store to open and it was a mad dash to grab Cricut cartridges but we got 6. Went to one other store and picked up some chairs for dh and stocked up on batteries- 50 AA and AAA battery packs for $6 each. The line there was probably 45 minutes. My feet and back are KILLING me now. We had a BLAST though so it was all worth it :)
