Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

UPDATE: Management w/family

I posted a vent about my current issues with my management position and an employee, who is also my cousin.

I did not make contact with her during the two weeks she was on medical leave, her FIL did pass away as was expected on the Wednesday prior to her return back to work, the funeral was held on the following Monday(21st).

S was supposed to return to work on the 22nd.  I received a call from my manager on the 19th, she emailed him another medical leave form for a month.

WTF?  am I crazy?  I have no idea what I am supposed to think or do now?

  • I am sorry you are continuing to deal with this!  

    I don't remember all the details exactly.  Does your cousin have some sort of medical issue?  Are medical leaves paid?

  • As far as I know, there is no medical reason for the leave, other than stress.

    I have no doubt she is under a great deal of stress, and I do sympathize with her.

     I just can't wrap my head around it, and am unsure if I should approach her, or let it be and give her more time.

    Medical leave is unpaid, although she can apply for employment benefits which would be around 55% of her income.
