*points with thumbs* this girl!
H and I made it safely to Iceland. We went out for a bit this afternoon to get lunch and explore the town. The wind cuts to the bone. If it weren't for the wind the weather wouldn't be so bad. We came back to the hotel and napped a bit before dinner. Oh, yeah. I tried puffin (yes, the cute bird) at dinner. I almost couldn't get it down. Wine helped though, but i dont recommend it. We scampered back to the hotel after dinner because the freezing rains started. It's supposed to snow tonight and I'm really hoping to wake up to a winter wonderland.
I hope everyone's having a great thanksgiving eve!
Re: Who's drunk nesting?
Jealous!!! In fact, I'm not sure if I'm more jealous of the fact that you're in Iceland or of the fact that you'll likely wake up to a winter wonderland. Your trip sounds amazing!
I'm tempted to open a bottle of wine to get me through the remainder of my thanksgiving cooking marathon, but I just almost set my stove on fire, so I'm thinking it may not be a good idea to add alcohol to the mix. Maybe in a bit.

Ha! H tried whale carpaccio when we were there and thought it was disgusting. He usually can eat anything but he couldn't even finish this appetizer, which I think greatly offended our waiter (oh well). We somehow missed the huge "Don't Eat Whale!" signs all over Keflavik when we landed but saw them hop on to Paris.
If you get the chance, go up to the top of the church in Reykjavik that kind of looks like an organ (the really famous one on the hill). The views are really nice. Also ask local Icelanders about their elves - they're kind of crazy over there about them! We even saw little homes (like playhouse-style) built next to full-sized homes for "the elves" to live in. And enjoy your trip the 90's with all the crazy troll dolls they have for sale in gift shops there. Seriously hadn't seen one of those in years. I want to hear all about it when you get home - were you able to get reservations at the Fish House? If so I'm curious as to what you think since we never ate there!
Puffin, huh? I guess it's not that odd, but i've never seen a puffin and thought, "food."
Hope it snows for you and is amazing and gorgeous!
