So how did everyone do with their Black Friday shopping?
I didnt really have any major deals to get, but I did get most of my Christmas shopping done, and that made me happy.
From when I got up on Thanksgiving morning and went to bed Friday night, I was up for 40 hours, with only a 3 hour nap in there. And I spent 13 of those hours shopping
Had a lot of fun though.
We hit all the marjor stores around my house and after our nap went out to Great Lakes Crossing around 3. And they were packed. So hard to find a parking spot. The longest line I stood in all day was for the Chineese food at the mall
I was talking to some of the cashiers and they had been there since 9pm the night before! How is that even allowed?
Re: Back Friday Success/Failure?
We did pretty good this year. I went out with my DH and my MIL. We didn't go out until about 7:30 in the morning though. We went to JoAnns (got flannel fabric for 1.49 a yard! I got tons of it!), Target (got the last two aerobeds for $50, one for us one for MIL, and a ton of movies!), Kohls (MIL bought us the bedding set we've been looking at for about a year for xmas! I'm so excited), Best Buy (by far the craziest store we stopped at, we didn't actually buy anything), then to the Mall. I got a present for SIL from Macy's at like 70% off and we bought a microwave that matches our kitchen appliances at Sears, I got a necklace at the limited, MIL got some stuff at Williams-Sonoma. That's about it. It wasn't as crowded as it's been in years past, so I was pleasantly surprised.
The longest line I waited in was to get my fabric cut at JoAnns! All in all, I'd say it was a super productive day and we all had a great time!

I was back in GR with the fam, and per usual we went to the mall there. We get up at 6, and end up at the mall a little before 7. We were shocked how slow the mall was actually. We had absolutely no difficulty getting a close parking spot, vs. even trying to find a spot like in previous years. I got a few good deals (a wallet for my mom, gloves for my sister, a dart board for my step-dad, and a few things for FI). Overall though, as expected, I wasn't blown away by the deals. My mom got more than me, and I only waited in a line for a few minutes at one place (Kohls, which is always horrible).
I desperately wanted to find carryon spinner luggage for FI and I for our honeymoon and work travel FI has been doing, but couldn't find a really good deal (IMO) anywhere. I even tried Marshall, and they had NO sale whatsoever, so I left kind of disgusted. I mean, really?! It's black Friday and you have no sale to speak of? I ended up finding some luggage on Amazon that was a little bit of deal, with no shipping and free returns, so I ordered them.
I still have at least half of our list to finish, so I'm hoping to finish of the list with good internet deals.
I didn't go, I wasn't going anywhere near main stores/mall.
I went w/my SIL & MIL to Joanns & Kohl's at 7am Sat. (today) and it was great, no crowds, and I got the same prices that I would have gotten had I went Fri.
I got dh a tool chest to try to organize his stuff in the garage for super cheap- 50% off.
I'm still a < this much > bitter about it.
I missed out on a thing for my son, but bought it full price. I plan to stalk the sales and buy it on sale again and then return the one I already bought. I figure it's gotta go on sale again.
My mom bought an amazing camera for herself. Dh denied me the ability to get one
I feel like this is about the worst black friday I've ever had. I also blame this on dh

Losing it...Without Losing it
I got FI to come out at midnight with me. We scored some deals at Target and Best Buy. Then I went out at 5:30 to Victoria's Secret, got two robes for ~$40 each and then got a free tote filled with some body products, yayy! Couple other stops and arrived home by 8am and quickly fell asleep. Later in the day we both scored some deals online! Very satisfied with my purchases and already have them wrapped and under the Christmas tree.
Oh, and I'm new to the boards, Hi everyone!
I went out at 6:00am and hit Walmart, Target, Pier One, Old Navy, Briarwood mall, ***'s, Meijer and Home Goods. We were going to Kohl's but saw how long the line was to check out and left (that was about 1:30pm). I wasn't going out for anything specific to go out at midnight or before when the stores opened. IT was so nice to go to Walmart at 6:00 and it was not busy at all. Same with most of the stores we went to. The longest I waited in line was about 5 minutes.
I got the majority of my Christmas shopping done so it was a successful day!!!
