How did your thanksgiving go?
I worked all day. Then prepped for my black friday shopping spree. I *only* spent around 900. But, we got a really nice tv so that was bulk of the money.
And I had to pick my jaw off the floor when one of my fb friends posted that her 7 month old baby just ate a full thanksgiving meal including pumpkin pie. Although, I'm not surprised. this is the girl who started feeding her 3 month old baby food. I feel bad for his tummy.

Uneventful.
I was able to get H on skype for a bit which was nice.
I don't follow Black Friday deals, but since this is our first year with 1 income I was looking forward to scoring some stuff. Are TVs usually the hot ticket? I was really bummed those seem to be the best deal since we are not in the market for a TV or BluRay player. Anywho, now I am anticipating Cyber Monday because I scored big last year.
IDK. This was my first year doing black friday deal shopping. We were saving up for a tv and then finally had the money about a month ago and we decided to wait and see if it went on sale for black friday and it did! Plus I used a CC that will give us enough points to get 50 dollars cash and also we got a 50 dollar gift card so that was another hundred dollars off the TV. After discounts, our sony 55" LCD ended up being 569 dollars and no tax since we bought at the BX.
That is why we did black friday at all.
H spent a year + researching our current TV. (I lost count of all the stores we went to) We tried getting it at the BX but ours in under construction and told us they couldn't get it. We ended up scoring a sick deal via Best Buy. The TV itself was 50% off plus Samsung included 2 sets of 3D glasses. Best Buy on top of that included a Blu Ray player and a 3D starter pack which included Shrek 1 & 2 in 3D plus 2 sets of glasses and a voucher for free 3D movie. For us it worked out well but was still a large purchase so we are set for the next 10 yrs LOL
Went really well. H's ship is in port and we got the chance to Skype for a bit before I went over to my parents.
Food was amazing, post Thanksgiving meal nap was amazing, Muppet Movie was AMAZING. I may or may not have cried...several times.
My sisters and I went Black Friday shopping at midnight, but that was really disappointing. We went to Old Navy first to hit up their outerwear sale- but everything we wanted was only in XS and S (and it wasn't like the regular sizes had just been sold out, they didn't have any in stock to begin with)! I found a few dvds at Target, then took a look at the ridiculously long checkout line that was weaving through isles in the store and decided it wasn't worth it lol. We stopped at a Wal-mart on the way back to my house and I found some $2 dvds for H, and since the electronics sale had already happened there was no line at all.
Went home and slept for 3 hours, then worked my butt off all day. People were rude and aggressive. It's just candles, people!

It went well. Ate, wished I would have drank. My parents and little brother were in, left this morning. C's mom and grandma are still here, though they stayed in a hotel. We're ready to have our house (and life) back, I think. Did a little shopping yesterday (though not super early.) Got some clothes that fit, yay! Hopefully the pants will be too big very soon. The shirts will all still fit though. I've remained a small there, thank goodness.
Today I think we're geocaching a little and I'm about to put C in the Ergo and do our 3 mile daily workout. Gotta lose this jiggle!
My mom was in town last week so we had Thanksgiving a week early. On actual Thanksgiving we put up the tree up and got ready and went to Walmart around 9. I got a few things (like my $2.98 waffle maker lol). We got our hands on one of the 'doorbuster' printers, but they weren't letting people check out with them until midnight (so why would you hand out printers at 9?!), so we just put the printer down.
We also went to Target and Macy's, but didn't buy anything.
Yesterday we took my new/used car to get looked at because it already feels like the rotors are warped. We brought it in to where we bought it and they said the problem is caused by the bearings, which is covered under warranty and that we need to take it to Nissan. We get it looked at at Nissan and it's the pads and rotors. Go figure. So now we're in a battle to try to get Mazda (where we bought it) to pay for it. Great fun.
My 1952 edition of Dr. Spock's baby care book says babies should eat meat by two months of age to avoid allergies. Maybe your friend is old school or getting lots of advice from her mom/grandma/etc.
My holiday kicked butt. Super quiet and laid back, food was good, cleaned as we went so there was no mess. My sister and I made peppermint marshmallows this morning and we'll dip them in chocolate later, and we also attempted homemade chocolate pudding for the first time. Yuuuummmm.

I spent most of the morning cooking, we had a few friends come over for Thanksgiving lunch. They stayed until that evening and we watched TV, I think this was the first Thanksgiving ever that I didn't take nap after eating.
We were planning on going to Walmart at 10 but waiting until the morning to go to the other stores but my husband decided we should go at midnight, I hadn't had a nap and it's a 45 minute drive to Target so I was really cranky when we were done there. We got everything we wanted so I'm glad we went, I think I regret buying the xbox though, my husband hasn't gotten off of it since he hooked it up yesterday.

Ours was ok. We spent it with some friends and the guys watched football while I made about 4 casseroles, Mac and cheese, 2 pies, and some rolls. When we all sat down to eat, everyone but H tried at least each of my casseroles and H had none of anything I made.
Am I super lame that that really hurt my feelings? I'd cooked since 9 am and we ate at 4 and he had not one bite of anything I made. He ate everything else that his friends wife made, but none of mine. I guess I was a bit offended, and I feel kinda of silly about it.
It went really well. We spent it at my aunt and uncle's house...nothing too eventful.
ETA: Ojo, the thought that babies should wait until older to start "food" is actually going the other way. Parents will never win. Lemon, your friend may be doing baby led weaning...I doubt this little boy had a plate as big as the adults though...he probably just had a taste of turkey and the sides.
Tulip, my feelings would be hurt too. I'm sorry!
My Thanksgiving was alright. I got to talk to H and I went over to my aunt and uncle's. One of their employees came, and we were all talking about football. He said, "I'm a Raiders fan". I said, "Oh, from when they were in LA or Oakland?". He said Oakland, so I figured he was from the Bay Area. Nope. So I said, "Why are you a fan then, are you a felon or something?"
Yes, yes he was. Awkward! I felt really bad, but then he had a lot of ridiculous opinions about POTUS and I felt less bad because I am actually the devil.
Hahahahahaha!
Ours was really nice. We spent a few days with E's family up in Tahoe. Ate way too much food. Simon experienced the snow for the first time and he sort of hates it but sort of likes it. IDK, I think it is dependent on how cold it was when we went out if he liked it or not. We did some shopping at Cabela's yesterday and went back with my Dad today. Got some great deals on work shirts for E and some shirts for my Dad and Brother for Christmas. I got a pair of Sorrel snow boots for a good deal!
