the hunger games >> no spoilers <<

Any fans of this trilogy? I am interested in reading it and even buying the books. Any thoughts? I hear a lot of positive reviews on this.

Re: the hunger games >> no spoilers <<

  • I've read the first, and really enjoyed it.  Definitely a different sort of book as I've never read dystopian before.  I haven't forced myself to read the following 2.
  • I have no idea what Dystopian is, but I read the hunger games and LOVED the books. In my top 10 books ever! If it helps I love Harry, Twilight, Mortal Instruments and all those type books. I also like light Jodi Piccoult, Kristin Hannah, Nicholas sparks... Not that these have anything to do with Hunger Games, but as a reference for what I like. Oh and Girl with the dragon tattoo - liked that too.

  • Okay- googled dystopian. I'm with you now. I see Stephanie Meyer's The Host listed as that which I also loved.

  • Yes! My bff recommended it... I thought it sounded dumb, but couldn't put it down once I started reading it. DH liked it a lot too.

  • Totally worth the read.  I'm even excited about the upcoming movie!

I couldn't put book one down - flew trough it.  Same with book two.  Book three was "meh."  I felt it had a sort of anticlimactic ending but still I needed to finish it.  ha.

This exactly!!! The end of book 3 really left me deflated.

  • It is a great series. We both really liked it. I am really looking forwad to the movie coming out in March. I never read fantasy type stuff but it was really good.
