*ranty rant rant*

My husband and my FIL decided that we were getting the vermiculite removed from our attic. No one ever asked me what I thought. I would have told them to hold off until after the holidays because it's the most stressful time of year for working retail, and I don't need any added stress.

But since they didn't ask me, I am forced to deal with their decision, and I am not happy! We have to be out of our house for 2-3 days, completely out, no going back. We have to pack up our animals, their food, our clothes and everything we need for three days and drive it out to my parents' house, which is an hour away. And then while we're there, we're going to have to drive an hour to work every day.

And this isn't just an isolated incident, when we are allowed back in the house, we're going to have no insulation in our attic, and it's going to be freakin cold in our bedroom. We can't put up new insulation until we have an electrician come in and rewire something (??) up there. And who knows when that will happen.

So this all just leaves me with feelings of unadulterated rage and the urge to take a shovel to the back of DH's head.

  • Oo I don't blame you for being upset! I would not be very happy if something like that was being done in our house without being consulted first!! Hopefully it all works out though and you can get back into an insulated house fast!
  • What happened with the short, two to three day solution you talked about? I thought it was supposed to be convenient. This does not sound convenient at all!
  • Boys just don't think sometimes do they!!!  And packing up all your food etc sounds like a Big Pain.

But on the bright side, it is only three days...and it is better to get it done than Not get it done.  Three days, just keeping thinking that, it's only three days.....  Good Luck!!
