Thinking of watching J. Edgar
Thinking about watching J. Edgar. Is it worth watching? Anyone see it?
Re: Thinking of watching J. Edgar
I saw it. It's good, not great. It was talked about quite a bit for awards before it came out and now is fading. The makeup seemed caked on to the point where it was distracting. I don't know if it was just the makeup, or if it wasn't lit well.
Armie Hammer stands out. I was hoping DiCaprio would get an Oscar, but he will be lucky to get nominated...
Interesting from a historical perspective, but I agree on the makeup. NOT good.
Also, every time Leo does an accent I want to pat him on the head. He tries so hard and it never works. lol. The music was overly hokey on some of the more dramatic/sad parts. It could be I was a little oversensitive during the movie, though, since there were some homophobes sitting right behind me and making comments.
The reviews were not all that great, but it looks interesting.
It just seems like there hasn't been any good movies out lately

I watched The Help and Crazy Stupid Love recently. They were both good.
I have also heard good things about The Descendants and My Week with Marilyn.
Hi! :-) It could change dramatically and maybe already has, but right now the pundits have Tintin as the likely winner in that category. (edited to clarify that I mean "best animated film" as the category) I don't know if they included/saw Hugo yet, though.
The New York Film Critics give their first awards on Tuesday. Yay, precursors. Haha.
